Matriculation level maths is more than enough for GK&A. As you said yourself that you used to be a 'theeta' which means you were expert in maths and it is a kind of subject whose concepts and basics do not fade away easily once you have learnt them. So, I would recommend you to practise maths UPTO matriculation level only. Sources of preparation are GAT, GRE books, text books of maths of 8th, 9th and 10th class etc.

Post General Science and Ability

Waliakum Assalam,

It is general 'science' and ability, not general 'knowledge' and ability. The core difference is that general knowledge encompasses everything, which obviously is general in nature; whereas, general science deals with bunch of different sciences, which are specific domains, but general in their context.

Now as far as the 'General ability' portion is concerned, it does not all about mathematics. Obviously it is true that the small portion of it is based on mathematics, which contains pretty rudimentary stuff - like ratio, percentage, series etc; and its level of difficulty will be easy for you if you used to be good at mathematics - as you said - until matriculation. There are other portions in general ability as well, like analytical portion and verbal/mechanical/social ability, which may or may not require the knowledge of mathematics.

The rest I shall share once I complete the science portion of this subject. GRE book is a good option though to start with, but I would suggest you to find recommended books as well, to shun all sorts of weird ideas, especially what book to follow and what not to follow.

Regards.

I am not sure what your worry is.

You said your maths was strong in matric? Why then should you worry about the basic maths of general ability? Even if you did not stay in touch with maths, you should be able to get back on track in a matter of few days, considering there is only basic maths involved.

Also, general ability checks your ideas about percentages, ratios, basic figures, etc etc. That is just basic maths. Even if you were not good at maths, you should be able to cover the math portion from a good GRE book.

The Maths in matric was no easy business!!! The general ability is asking basic algebra, basic, trigonometry and things which we already covered in matric.
We might not recall everything perfectly but that's why we have friends on this forum or you can try and teach yourself through solved answers.Whatever works for you.
Don't consider this a big hurdle.
I loved maths in matric but haven't studied it ever since. So we are floating in the same boat. And even if there's some topic that eludes us we can always find a way to build upon our previous knowledge.
