Smile Disaster risk reduction vs Disaster risk management

They are not identical; even they do not converge to the similarity between one another. In fact, the former, disaster risk reduction, encompasses the latter, disaster risk management. Although it's obvious that for the reduction of 'something', you have to have a management, so as to mitigate its intensity. However, for the sake of future preparation about this topic, as I have just started preparing science portion, I did a bit of research on this topic; and it turned out to be correct intuition, which is that the DRR incorporates DRM in itself.

Here is the reference:http://www.unisdr.org/who-we-are/what-is-drr

Please read the chunk under the heading "Disaster risk reduction is everyone's business."

Further elaboration on this topic will obviously make me do less effort in future for sure. So please share your material on this topic as well under this post.

Let me make it simple !

Disaster risk management is a process which includes 4 steps aimed towards managing disasters,

Whereas,

Disaster Reduction is a part and one of those 4 steps of DRM; it aims to reduce the chances of disaster by taking several actions.
