Nothing is difficult in Islamic Studies, you can do it by yourself. Just go through recommended books, such as Ideology of Islam by Anwar Hashmi, Islamiat by Imtiaz Shahid and contemporary issues can be done by news papers. In last, read Jahangir exam cram's book for Islamic studies to make your own short one page notes. However, still you are feeling that much difficulty in it, then a good teacher is not a bad idea. As it would be a plus point, because the teacher will teach you in best way to do things, it would be time consuming and you would be bound to go on as per your tutor's way.
