Which preparation strategy for Islamiat should I opt?
@ Crown Prince
I am confused regarding Islamiat preparation. Looking at the past 2 years' papers, I feel like it will be a complete waste of time studying those syllabus oriented, popular and recommended books such as Khurshid's and so am not making up my mind whether to entertain the syllabus or not? Or is it that we have to miserably do the double effort of preparing both the syllabus and contemporary Islamiat to be on the safe side? |

First you must go for the recommended books. I've studied Islamic History by Mazhar-ul-Haq, Islamiat by Farkhanda Noor Muhammad for A Level. You have to clear your concept about the basic knowledge of Islami then in the light of that material you can attempt well any contemporary topic.
I don't think that a single or two books will guarantee high marks in Islamait paper, for that you should consult Friday feature in DAWN, Friday feature of Daily Jang, other book generally we study about Islam, even the sermon delivered by religious scholars on Friday will be helpful in this regard. Don't be confused about that subject. You have to write your thoughts about certain contemporary issues in the light of Islamic teachings/injunctions. Everyone have his/her own viewpoint regarding any topic, just share it with examiner that you got in your life.

I highly value your good guidance, have got your point and I'll do as you have suggested. I am already working on collecting articles from newspapers and net sources.
To elaborate it further, actually I recently read Muhammad Qutab's 'Islam:The Misunderstood Religion'. It was damn good and I was impressed with its author's critical approach in addressing the modern era issues and allegations against Islam. I felt like this is the kind of quality stuff that we should be reading for preparation, not just for Islamiat but also for our islamic Essay topics. To my surprise, I found later that this book is amongst the recommended books on Islamiat by FPSC. So thats how I thought of evading the syllabus oriented books and to study such fun-to-read, off-beat stuff. Anyhow, thanks once again bro for your pearls and if you or anyone could suggest me some good books on Islam for general reading, I'll appreciate that.
