BASIC BELIEFS/CREEDS/AQIDAH OF ISLAM


DEFINITION OF AQIDAH:-
"Aqidah" is an Islamac term, which is derived from Arabic word "Aqadah" whcih means a rope that is tied frimly and strongly. The other meaning of "Aqadah" is sale.

Literal meaning of Aqidah:-
In Islam the literal meaning of Aqidah is a creed or belief that is fixed in one's heart without any doubt. This strong and firm creed or belief should not have any doubt or supposition.

There are five basic creeds of Islam and these are
1.Belief in unity or oneness of God
2. Belief in all Prophets (Nabi) and messenger (Rasul)
3. Belief in Angels (Malaika)
4. Belief in Divine books
5. Belief in the Day of Judgement (qiyama)
