Thumbs up Do You Know the "Institutionalization"

slamz everyone. hope you fine.
Dear this topic is new to me, so far, below are some points, after reading, if you know some thing about it, plz do inform me by posting the material or the source from where i can get the same.

Institutionalization
Institutionalization is widely used in social theory to denote the process of making something ( a concept, particular norms and values, a social role or mode of behavior) which becomes enclosed within an organization , social system or society as an established norms and attitudes within that system.

Institutionalization sometimes, refers to the treatment of, and damage caused to, the vulnerable human beings by oppressive and corrupt application of inflexible system of social, medical or legal control by publicly owned or non-profit organizations; and also it describes, being accustomed to an institution, so that it is difficult to resume normal life after leaving it.

Institutionalization in Pakistani Society
Since the birth of Pakistan as a nation state, Pakistan has been encircled by enormous socio-political problems, though most of them were inherited due to the geo-political situation at the time of its birth, but some of them were the out of our sick society and of lack of good governance.

Through the years pakistani society retarded and thus social consequences deteriorated, educational, legal and medical institutions were setup for the welfare and improvement of the general public, but instead of implementing the public friendly policies, those institutions oppressed the people by their corrupt applications. The Politicians, rather to empower the people and to stand the nation in the row of developed countries, they embezzled all the funds and nothing improved on gross root level.

In the society we live in, is full of ignorance, injustice, corruption, nepotism and lack of sincerity towards the society, thus no room for institutionalization has ever been created. Being Muslims, we got our country in the name of Islam, which perfect code for, not only individual life but as well as the society as a whole. Islam has the panacea for every problem we face in our life.

Institutionalization simply refers to the particular values and norms, the values of human dignity, the standard of social life, in which no person is superior to another, except one who is more perfect.

Institutionalization is the result of more mechanization and industrialization. After the industrial revolution in United Kingdom, individuals who worked within large organizations becomes socialized into organizational values and standards, and those norms and values became institutionalized.

To attain the goals of more secure and beneficial conditions for its masses, Pakistan society must proceed by making its educational, legal and health care institutions more institutionalized.

with Regards n thx.

Dear first check the how it is defined?? Then what do you mean by more institutionalization.

INSTITUTIONS ARE COMPLEXES ARE NORMS AND BEHAVIOURS THAT PERSIST OVER TIME TO ACQUIRE SOCIAL VALUES.

As per my previous understanding about institution is that it is different then organization, organizations may exist but it can't be recognized as Institution because it might not acquire social value and it might not be that much widely accepted as social norm.

please check

Concrete and Abstract Institutions

Moreover,

how you will look

Marriage

as an institution

or

Mosque or Hujra as an Instiitution

and

Bank as an Institution.

These are various forms of Insititutions.

If your point of more institutionalizations is about service delivery, then its something else.

Please search for Governance and Development or Good Governance subjects. (I studies in my Development studies and might be having only few hard copies of notes), I will try to post more (condition to availability of time).

But, I will be waiting to read from your side or contribution by any other member.

Regards

AA

I believe that institutionilazatoin is all about strenghening the institutions that we already have. These may be institutions of marriage, social systems, economy, employments, NGOs network and so on and so forth. It is not invasion of something new but checking and reviewing the older ones to hearten and strenghen them.

Like institutionalizatoin of educatoin may be the strenghening of our education system on all levels. It is about reviewing the syllabus, checking out the examination systems, teachers trainings, PTAs introduction, constructing more school buildings, etc. But it would also consider the older things that already we have in our education system.

Regards,

Institutionalization of Society

Institutionalization is process of making the society addicted towards particular norms and values.

Institutionalization may be a concept, theory, particular norms and values, a social role or mode of behavior towards a particular institution, thus, institutionalization of society deduces “ Making the particular society dependent towards proper norms and values”

Institutionalization of society also refers to the treatment of damage caused to vulnerable society from corrupt and oppressive application of social or political institutions, primarily setup for benefit and welfare of, society as a whole.

In the corporate context, institutionalization of society refers to the individuals who become socialized in particular organizational and social values and standards, and it becomes difficult for them to resume their normal life after leaving / retirement. This, has been, criticized by some of the authors, holding the view, that those individuals become confined and restricted only to their views, and lacking the broad thinking towards the society.
(A military personnel is the immaculate example of an institutionalized individual in an organizational values)

Institutionalization of Society in Pakistan

Since the creation of Pakistan, various social and political institutions have been created in our society, in order to institutionalize and raise the living standards of its masses. Besides new ones, there may be various basic and fundamental institutions most likely the institution of marriage, customs and culture.

Institutionalization of Society of Pakistan, requires the improvement and strengthening of various existing social, political, educational and economic institutions including Non profit organizations.

Marriage, being a divine and religious institution has been spoiled in its heart and soul by the so-called hymeneals ceremonies. Since the advent of human beings, marriage has been celebrated differently according to Institutionalization of marriage, requires very important meliorations, nowadays marriage ceremonies are source of wastage of money, energy and time. A lot of wedding events have been inducted by observing the marriages of non-muslims and other cultures in our society, which completely do not favor our social values, economic conditions and our beliefs. Those modern values and ceremonies in our weddings, nothing but, create problems and difficulties for majority of our peoples, because of low economic circumstances, lower class ( 98% of the total population of our country) can not arrange marriages in accordance with the expectations of our new generations, and thus, it crops up numerous social problems, resulting into the generation gap. Many of the unions are not held, only due to the want of, dower. Giving/taking the more dower in the marriage is one of the cures of our society, this, practice must be eradicated by enlightening the people of its abuses in accordance with the teachings of Religion and our socio-cultural conditions.

Mis-marrying, is a sign of destruction of domestic lives as well as our social values. This type of marriage arise manifold disorders in the institution of marriage. According to the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH):
“Marriage should not be the mis-marriage in respect of ages of each spouse” . This cause the mis understanding between union of the two, hence its disjoins the husband and wife. Because the different of age, husband and wife found it difficult to offer love and affection to each other.

Marriage between the poor and the poor, and between rich and the rich, is also against the teachings of our Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The Prophet Muhammad said “ Give your woman to the rich, get married from the poor”.

Islam, as mis informed by the western media, is not congested in its religions beliefs, rather than, it provides every human being its self-regard and self-respect, by restraining all anti-social activities. Hence, marriage should be performed according to the teachings of and essence of Islamic values, which give, comfort to all human beings.

Apart from above, political institutions i.e. parliament should be democratic; all the members of National Assembly must represent the ideology of the nation, they should put forward the bills and ordinances in the best national interests. Pakistan is a poor country in connection with the political instructions. Neither the properly elected nor the real leaders come forward in the country’s most powerful political institution. Might is right, this is the real slogan of the national politics. All the feudal, criminals, and anti social persons are sit by the agencies and the country’s ruling forces, they, themselves are law breakers, what they can for the society? Politically, our social values are based on nationalities, specially interior Sindh and interior Punjab, since the creation of the Pakistan, some selected families are ruling the country, whether competent or not, but they kept in country’s executive seats, no one from the middle class can dare to contend election against those powerful feudal.

For the healthy political practice in Pakistan, nothing but, the public is the real power, which can select best representatives, who reflex their ideals in the true sense of word.

In addition, educational institutions in Pakistan are in evolutionary ages, which urgently require its advancement according to the need of hour, those standards, which can compete rest of the developed world.

Educating people is the main source of institutionalization of society, more educated person is more civilized and institutionalized. Today, educational institutions pose a very miserable view because of political interference in its internal affairs. Ministry of education is responsible for transparent measures to raise the standards of education.

First of all, political interference must to be stopped by punitive measures, and the teachers must be employed on merit basis. Teacher is the maker of nation. Today, in spoiling the education standards, teachers play very important role, because if the head of the state/institution is strict, no one dares to go beyond the limits. For that, from peons to the ministers, they must be selected by a more transparent way. Institutionalization of society requires revisions in syllabus, checking out the examination system, teachers trainings, Parents-Teacher Associations, renovating the older buildings and making new ones, and to facilitate the teachers socially and financially. Institutions must be developed for mentally retarded/ special children. Orphanage homes for heirless, community centers, zoos, fun houses, parks, honorary societies play very important role in institutionalization of society.

Besides, social and political institutions, economics institutions must be improved. Educational and social institutions will not benefit the society if the people are economically backward, if the man in street is not satiated, how he will be institutionalized in particular norms and values. Government should take such strict measures so that all the economic institutions must be beneficial for the common man. The poor is the poorer and rich is richer, our economic structure must be beneficial to all the members of our society.

For improving the social conditions of our society, a lot of non governmental organization are working on gross root level, they are funded by other countries, large organizations, and philanthropist to achieve the goals of raising the living standards of common man. But in reality, a lot of black sheep are subverting its true essence, many of them are improving the conditions only in paper works, millions of rupees are embezzled in their personal accounts, and on gross root level, there is no difference in poverty alleviation, raising educational standards and social conditions. Inspite of having most of the institutions in our society, our social values are demoralized day by day.

It is concluded, that institutionalization of the society is termed as addicting the society towards some particular norms and values to acquire the most beneficial political, social and economical goal to raise the living standard of the man in street. For that, it is common man, who, by applying more civilized manners in our daily life towards daily situations, can institutionalize our Beloved Pakistan society by making a perfect example for our next generations.
