BACKGROUND FOr ALL INDIAN MUSLIM LEAGUE

Before the dawn of 20th century and after the war of independence,muslims were treated ruthlessly and were considered merely a religious minority with no social status and grandeur.They were politically,economically,socially sabotaged by the Hindus and the British.The British had always considered the muslims as their adversaries because they had ousted them from power.Hindus had surpassed them in every walk of life and the beleaguered muslims were thrown into a dark cave with no hope of renaissance.They were socially suppressed,economically carved and politically doomed by the Hindus.At this critical juncture Sir syed Ahmed khan came for the rescue of his co-religionists.He perceived that muslims salvation lay only in the acquisition of Western Education,to redeem them from the atrocities of Hindus he tried his utmost to allure them towards education and for this purpose he established M.A.O college and sponsored All india Muslim educational conference,both were the institutions from which leaders of All india muslim league and the ideology ok Pakistan emerged.Through the activities of the congress and the agitation of the Hindus against Partition of Bengal muslims were convinced that the congress and the Hindus would only work for their personal aggrandisement.Thus through Simla deputation muslims for the first time highlighted their demands as a community on national level.with the dawn of 20 th century political development among the muslims gathered pace and the sympathetic reply from The Lord Minto encouraged the Muslims that paved the way for the formation of All india Muslim leagues on dec 30 1906 at Decca.
