Can any of the respected members tell me what will be the merit of last appointed csp from Punjab? If a candidate got 550 (Punjab) position in the order of merit would he be selected for appointment?

As per the number of seats announced there seems no chance for that to happen.

Lets suppose we count Punjab seats (160+19) and also all the merit seats going to Punjab (24) and keeping the repeaters factor to be 25 (which is not sure at the moment); all that make 228 people from Punjab (at max) making their way to the 37th common.

That seems to be the case apparently at the moment but before allocations announcement nothing can be said for sure.

Arif's calculation seems to be very close but i think repeaters factor wouldn't be that much so i think positions in punjab till 200 (male candidates) have a bright chances of getting allocated..ofcourse rest will be confirmed once the allocations are announced.

the last selected candidate having domicile of punjab would be of merit 277 overall (open merit).
this is what excluded of any repeater factor

F.P.S.C ki website nahi khul rhe .... either it is final result being announced or chairman name being pasted...
i thought i should change public stand easy position.

you were right MANIKA BHAI , there is nothing at FPSC.PK for everyone who want to know about css 2008 final selection. i have been told by some fellows that CHAIMAN is taking charge on tuesday and the result would be made public on that very day... but that news still need support from other fellows so plz add your comments

any one friend can tell that how many seats of nwfp can possibly b at last (if repeters etc are there),,,,seats are 43,,,,is there chance to go up to 50???



some friends may hav some useful info......

The number of seats will remain the same. The only possibility in case of repeaters is that if the repeaters opt out of css-2008 allocations then allocations will be offered to the ones who are next in line.
For example if 'A' is placed on 47th position in NWFP and is a repeater and does not like his allocated department and does not accept the offer then the post would be offered to the candidate who is 48th in NWFP according to merit.

anyone having the information regarding total number of repeaters of those who have not been able to improved their department in css 2008 ?i have come across the figure of some 30 students

Maj. Gen. (R) Ovais Mushtaq Qureshi, HI(M) has joined FPSC as the member. his name has already been mentioned at their website. i think that the time for announcement of final selection of c.e 2008 is approaching very fast

I wonder why they couldn't find any suitable Civil servant for this job
I mean how long will we see the penetration of military in civil institutions?
There are many institutions e.g. fauji foundation, dockyard, MTC, AWC etc where many of the retired armed forces officers are already serving and serving well. But to get them on such coveted positions of Civil Institution is beyond my understanding...
