W-Salam,
Total score 561 and failed in aggregate. I didn’t have the intention to appear in CSS 2009 because after PCS Exam I’d very little time, but postponement of exam gave me some time, so with the preparation of one month I appeared in Exam and result in in front of you. Political Science and Const Law were nightmare for me and EDS due to arts background I didn’t focus that subject. I passed the PCS Exam and failed in interview by 3 marks thus didn’t allocate and another person was facilitated in allocation. I was also recommend by FPSC for ASF Inspector but I didn’t join it because of CSS 2010. anyhow, I learned many lessons from CSS 2009 attempt and improved EDS, Political Science and Const. Law and hopeful to get through this time because 2010 attempt was mature than the previous one and I tried hard to cover my flaws. Essay 47 English 40 EDS 35 Current Affairs 53 Pak Affairs 40 Islamiat 67 History of India and Pak 108 Political Science 80 Const. Law 33 Pushto 58 P.S: I didn't share my experience of 2009 because things were not sound at that time otherwise I would have shared in detail. Anyhow, I've forgotten the memories of 2009 and will share the experience of 2010 after the announcement of result in detail.

My subjects are: 1)political sciences 2)constitutional law 3)pushto 4)American history 5)Public adminstration/international relation Now plz tell me the methodology of above subjects that hw can i overwhelm them in time and plz also assist me in opting one of my optional that is public ad and I.R.Really i am muddle that what to do,coz both of them i have studied in my MA political sciences.so what do u recommend me in above two optionals that whichone i shud opt. Futhermore,do shed light on my optionals and give me defensive remarks and also tell me hw much time will it take to be learned in 8months,coz i am planning for 2011.similarly,ror jana i am also alien like u to EDS coz since my inter i have social sciences background so by Allah i dont know its basics and i will take start frm scratch for EDS NOTE. I’ve made points and bullet in hard copy of each and every subject this will help you for quick revision. I believe in smart mark so, made points of the most important topics keeping in view the past papers. Moreover, once you have prepared the optional subjects and made points then it will work for all the time and unfortunately if could not get through the first attempt it will work in second and third attempt or elsewhere.
Political Science is a very lengthy subject it proved a nightmare for me both in PCS and CSS. But I’d no other option except to opt it and to continue with it. I’d background in that subject as it was my optional in B.A but you know the standard of Govt. Colleges in Balochistan that’s why could not scored well but instead of replacement, I’ve made much improvement in that subject for 2010 attempt. All of my work is posted in CSSForum which I’d in soft copy, it is really difficult to type the bullets and points in hard copy but I’ve posted some of them on forum. I promise after success I’ll provide all of my work to the aspirants. Moreover, I try best to give tips to aspirants only on those subjects in which I’ve command and scored well in previous attempt. Pushto was my optional subject in B.A so by default I opted that in CSS as well. Pohan’na is a best book and suggested by many seniors. If you study it in detail you will get a tremendous score and MCQs will be comprehensible for you. Otherwise with selective study of few days you can opt 50+ score in that subject. For Political Systems of Political Science Paper – II and Const. Law, do consult the internet specially wikipida to keep in touch with recent updates and developments in the Constitutions and Political System of the countries mentioned in the syllabus. I’ve studied variety of books on these subjects I will share the exact name of books and authors. Your choice of optional subjects is good according to you background. Make a schedule and target for preparation. For example if you want to start from Political Science, then first complete Principles of Political Science (Paper – I Section – II), then go for Political Thoughts (Political Science Paper – I Section – I) and then at last start the Political Systems (Political Science P-II). Make short points, notes if you can manage and then set aside this subject after completion. Similarly, Const. Law and US History, then go for other subjects. I would prefer IR instead of Public Ad, but its upto your choice and interest. Seniors told me that Public Ad is tricky subject as compare to IR. So, if you are confused then check the past papers you would be the best judge to decide and you have already studied that subjects so there will be no problem for you while finalizing the choice. You have Masters Degree and your background is good so, eights months are more than enough for you. Mumtaz Hayat Maneka said I’ve prepared in one and half month and CSS topper 2008 had study of 5 months. At least you have studied EDS in inter so it should not be a problem for you. Consult your books of inter, I’ve studied the book of Kashmiri and I found it easy and comprehensible. Moreover, get help from youtube to clear your concepts about certain topics. I’ve posted some of the videos on forum. As I could not score well in 2009 so don’t completely reply on my recipe. Books we study for exam are written by good authors and their English is good. You can improve your English while preparing your optional subjects, focus on vocabulary, idioms, pair of words and structures. Written practice will not only improve your English but also help in preparation of your subject. Furthermore, you have to consult variety of articles and newspapers so ultimately your English will be improved. Nevertheless your English is good. Best of luck.
