Despite being successful in viva voce too, many candidates of 39th common couldnt make it to recruitment.why is this so?is it due to the preferences we make?or what?really confused

@ Miss Amina Mehmood.

Those candidates who couldn't get allocated in 2010 whether they have scored high or low in the interview are decleared pass by the FPSC but they are lower in the merit order.This is not due to preference or anything like getting low marks. it is because of the fact that interview is like another compulsory subject.

@sikandar thanks alot
need some more clarification.for instance this year there are 300 vacancies and after viva voce a candidate who secures merit no 301 or so will not get recruited?am i right?

Well, depends whether the candidate is on Punjab quota or any other provincial quota.It is a bit complex.See after the merit list is published you have to see which merit position do you occupy in your provincial quota.Suppose you are from punjab and you have secured 33 merit# overall pakistan and 28th overall punjab.Subject to the availability of the seats for different occupational groups you will be allocated in any occupational group. Suppose there are 10 seats of DMG, 10 for Police and 10 for FSP.Moreover there are also Women Quota seats. so after careful calculation based on the preference of different candidates you will be given a group on the basis of your merit order and your highest preference.

if one did not come on merit of his mentioned group then what fpsc will consider him for others groups or not??
