Its not an alarming issue to consider before subject selection. It fluctuates every year.

Speaking in general terms, you are right. But, selecting optional subjects while keeping in view the scoring trend of last three years really helps in getting good position in CSS. Usually, a positive or negative scoring trend continues for three years as this is the tenure for which an examiner is hired by the FPSC. From 40th to 200th position in final allocations of CSS, there is very little difference of marks and positions differ with even one or two numbers. Therefore, those aspirants who are eying at a group or service of their choice should be aware of scoring trends in optional subjects so that they may bet on the right horse. I hope I am able to convey my point of view.

Dear sir what do think about the scoring trend of essay , journalism and Islamiat in the following year because Islamiat and journalism proved disastrous last year and same is the case with essay in this year. And what are the basic techniques for attempting and writing a food essay.

As far as Islamiat and Essay are concerned, you can not help as they are compulsory subjects. And, journalism, in my humble opinion, is one of the safest of all elective subjects. About the tips for writing an essay, please check other sections of this website and you will get loads of information and guidelines. Best of luck.

Dear Jatoi sb. Kindly check scoring trends of CSS 2010 and 2009 for making a good guess. I am not aware of those results. My interest in CSS has been awakened because my younger brother will be appearing next year. Best of luck.
