OMG is better than IG. In omg u have better chance to get 22 and become top bureaucrate "SECRETARY". There is no designated 22 in the IG. Moreover in OMG u are main tool of policy making and administration.

Yes I was on merit 149 last year, and 105th in Punjab. Three candidates did not join so my actual standing was at 102nd in Punjab. And yes I was not allocated because of this particular judgment. However, I filed a writ in high court, not against this particular case, but on point that the rule being applied on women quota should also be applied on Provincial Quotas. The case will soon be decided and in case I win, last allocated candidate on Punjab Merit this year will be 128 Hafiz Abrar.

Last year there were 17 all Pakistan open merit seats and 93 Punjab Merit seats. And the last candidate allocated on Punjab open merit was the 99th one in Punjab. This time lesser number of vacancies are available for Punjab. So the question is how come seniors like Raz are allocating candidates upto 116th on Punjab merit on only 105 available seats? At the maximum candidate on 131 overall merit will be allocated from Punjab and this too has got an extremely rare possibility (because we still cannot calculate the number of seats Punjab will occupy from among the 16 open merit seats). Merit 120 would be a safe guess for Punjab. Have my words, there is not even a slightest possibility of allocation in first list for candidate on merit 132 from Punjab.

Quote:
Secondly, what impact does this ruling has on allocation in the top 30? In 2011 #3 and #17 are women and both have DMG as first pref. #3 will get DMG on Pakistan Open Merit while #17 will get DMG on Punjab Open Merit. Will it have any bearing on all males below #17? As in, will any woman below #17 (lets say # 20) automatically be 'preferred' for allocation in DMG over, lets say a male at #18?
No impact on allocation in the top 30 because women quota allocations starts only when DMG seats of all Pakistan open merit and Provincial merit has been consumed. Last year women at merit 70 was the first one to occupy quota seat. So a women lower in merit will not be preferred over a male higher in merit while allocating Provincial Merit Seat.

what are the expectations??
Brother your allocation is subject to number of seats Punjab will occupy from 16 open merit seats. You are 104 in Punjab. There are 89 open merit seats and you ll be allocated only if Punjab gets 15 out of 16 open merit seats. (15+89=104). Women quota distribution will not affect this position of yours. Chances of Punjab getting 15 open merit seats and you being allocated are extremely rare. You have a chance in reallocation in case 5 or 6 candidates from Punjab did not join. I am hoping to have a change in allocation procedure this year and if it is changed then you will need only 2 candidates not joining from Punjab. Try to contact those who are not joining this year so that you may have a clearer idea about your allocation. http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-dates...rit-150-a.html

Ok but even if you win, FPSC will go in appeal to higher forum i.e. Supreme Court so no chance of relief for males this time around
