Being a chemist I will suggest you not to opt chemistry only on the basis of your previous study at intermediate level, because chemistry syllabus is of master level and the paper is a bit tough specially paper II. But have a look at the syllabus and then if you think you can handle it so it can be scoring subject.

Science subjects are scoring if prepared well, there is no selective study concept in these subjects. So thats why every one suggests to opt general subjects which required only understanding and writing in own words is suffice for these.

Walekum Salam. First of all the initial step towards CSS is the selection of optional subjects by having a look at the syllabus and past papers of the CSS Exam. Are you done with it?

If not then you should keep in mind the available time, length of syllabus, your educational background and scoring trend of the subjects whilechosing subjects.
Make a list of probable subjects as per above factors and discuss here so that senior people can guide you. Once subject selection is over then you can make strategy/plan for studies.

OK thats fine You can select subjects maximum of 200 marks from Group A these are related to your field.

Accounting & Auditing, 200 marks
Economics, 200 marks
Business Administration, 100 marks
Public Administration 100 marks

For rest of the subjects your academic background may not help you, as in CSS you need to take optional subejcts of 600 marks and no one has academic background in all subjects. So have a look at syllabus and make a mind for remaining subjects.
