Having said that, I will definitely get a major life setback in case I don't make it. The thing I am most worried about is going back abroad for work as their doors are closing day by day and its getting harder to have a good life/job over here. Funny thing is, as the result is drawing closer (and next exam too), I have got distanced from CSS, this place and don't care much now. I feel like leaving and going abroad for a good life even if I pass.

This is why I'm counting on CSS. Cz I have invested so much time. Let go of my opportunities to pursue my masters. Left my job for studies. And now I'm just lurking in the middle. So, of course when u make a risky investment, u hope to make lucrative profits. Time that has gone cannot come back. But u do want to look back and say at least it was worth it at the end of the day.

Monk, I am confused as well on the actual ratings of careers in Pakistan, mostly in monetary terms. What are the opinions of people here in this forum on CSS vs MBA ?

MBA has no lucrative career in Pakistan except you are graduated from Lums/IBA etc or you have charming personality with extraordinary communications skills.

If you don't fall in above categories then move abroad, advisably in gulf countries or you can go hard at CSS and join Top groups

Before you think of moving abroad I would suggest you to spend some quality time on CSS, you may qualify so it would be best for you. Incase you don't qualify then you'll be groomed to go abroad. I believe CSS grooms us pretty well

The merit of civil service cannot be ruled out. The only problem if if you don't get through, you get nothing. U are as good as u started on day 1. Mba, on the other hand, is a degree. But what kind of job do u get with an Mba. Also, consider the number of mbas passing out from university each year. The number keeps rising, thus more competition in the job sector. CSS is gold if u pass.

People generally don't fail owing to current affairs. See this is where people are doomed. They think they are good at three aforementioned subjects but that good isn't good enough. They have to be excellent in these three subjects to cross the line

and second thing is that.. m going to appear in CE_2017 as i m not much prepared to fight with scholars bcz m much junior, have just cmplt my Masters in Eng.
