Should you blame yourself for failing CSS?
Salam. I am copying my Facebook status. It's the tip of an iceberg about what are the problems with the system. To all those who failed and to all those who passed, read it! CSS is entirely about luck. And it's about luck for those people who have given everything... zahiri baat hai every Tom, Dick and Harry does not have the right to criticize the system.. Only those who have worked their asses off and are a victim of this terribly unpredictable system. Here it goes:
"A lot of people are calling me today. I will get back to each and every one of you. I was amongst the few lucky guys today for which I'm grateful to my Creator, God Almighty. I have no hesitation in admitting that the look of stoic resignation is no longer there. The wistful smile has finally been replaced by a warm and contented face. By the grace of God, I passed CSS 2017. All my energies would be devoted to raising my voice for reforming the system. I don't know whether I would get allocated or not. But let me categorically state that this is a totally horrible system. It's a written exam. There shouldn't be a modicum of luck or uncertainty or unpredictability in it. People, who are literally at least three times more capable than me as far as language, intellect and thought process is concerned, fail this exam. And guess what, people with a horrible grasp over English language pass this exam. Add jewel to the crown, they manage to land in top groups as well. This is tantamount to adding insult to the injury of deserving candidates. I guess I'm being a tad verbose here. Pardon me for that. It doesn't matter. People with elite English pass. People with elite English fail. People with horrible English pass. People with horrible English fail. This is such a big exam. My Lord, it shouldn't be based on luck. People invest their time, money, emotions and utilize all their resources in this process. All they get in the end is a big zero. Not because they are not intellectually superior and neither because they could not interpret the essay topic properly. English exams are targeted alternately. To give you an idea, I had 75 in Precis Grammar exam. The very next year, I got 38. Lols, that's horrible to be honest! What about people who possess horrible English skills and yet are able to pass English grammar exam! I'll continue my rants in the coming days. The only positive thing for me in this entire css journey is that one of my atheist friends reverted back to Islam. He confided in me that he has finally believed that no matter what if God hasn't destined something for you, you won't be able to get it. There is a force that runs the universe. God bless you all!" May God do what is best for each and every one of us! |

Luck favors the prepared!
Luck favors the prepared!
I have failed the exams. I have not seen the DMC yet. I am devastated at the moment but I did see this coming! I know my mistakes, they have been haunting me for the last few months. But I was still praying for a miracle to get through. I will inshaAllah be going for the next attempt. I will definitely learn from my mistakes and hope to make it the next year. But we all need to accept the reality that nobody gets anything before time and more than their predestined luck! Don't let the failure stop you! Grieve and move on. |

First of all congragulations for making it.Exactly, luck makes this system horrible. I am sure many students, from qualifiers, must be having fix 600 marks and many candidates having 750 marks shall be taking anti depressants to get sleep. Horrible it is. I request whenever, in life, you get chance to make a difference please make it - consider ist a request of a broken soul and a victim of this system.
Good luck for future. |

just dont give up !
Hi members,
I know its hard time for all of us ( yes including me ). I am devastated at my self since the last night. Congratulations glintino! you finally made it. The thing which Iwanted to share here is that luck is an integral part of this exam and no matter how intellectual or knowledgeable you are, at some point you would agree on this. But lets introspect for a moment, just ask your self did you fill all those gaps and lacunas that were there ? Was it only luck that hindered your journey or Is there any room for improvement ? You will find the answer if you are sincere to your self. Yes, luck matters a lot in this exam but only when you are done 100% . Its as simple: the harder you work, the luckier you get. My dear members just dont give up. May be this is a reality check and it may open new vistas of success for you. I have seen people ( many close friends) who have been through months of depression and anxiety due to this exam and it all ended well for them. one of my very close friends cleared it after 3 years of intense struggle.Just relax and think " where things went wrong" and bounce back . I am very sure we will be there in the coming years. Just dont give up. Luck might be a hurdle once or twice, but if you are a fanatic you will make it. Just believe in Almighty Allah and go all guns blazing . Insha Allah you will make it. We will rise again. Regards,

No logical, rational and sane guy can deny the fact that CSS has become a matter of luck post 2013. Dude, toppers of one year fail in the very next attempt. The problem arises when in one year, 400 candidates pass the essay exam. The next year, the total number of passed candidates in Essay exam touches the 6000 mark. Goodness me, is this believable? Is this a reliable exam?
Now, I am just talking about Essay and Precis examinations. Abhi scoring trend ka tou alag rola hai... |
