Questions, such as the one you mentioned, are definitely asked.
It doesn't matter whether the book you mention as your favourote is a fictional piece or a non-fictional one. The only thing that matters is that you must know those books inside out. Rationale being that if a question is asked during the interviews regarding those books, you may be able to answer them. |

The best way through these tests is to be natural and answer honestly. Remember, your personality has developed over the course of many years and the tests are designed in a way to find out exactly what type of a person you are. Some people do try to project themselves as smarter than they are and at some point during the series of tests, they will slip. You don't want to enter into an interview with a psychological assessment that tells the panel you've been trying to act smart.
I only agree partly with ThroneDeserter that you have to know your book inside out. Right now I can think of my favorite book being Harry Potter(the first thing that came to my mind). But I hardly remember anything about its content. If you ask me why it is my favorite, its because of JK Rowling's writing style. I've read Jeffrey Archer, Agatha Christie, Ian Fleming, Mario Puzo and Robert Ludlum and while they are all good writers, J.K. Rowling's style just made me read and read. My point is, you need to be able to justify why it is your favorite book. And the best way to do that, in my opinion, is to be honest. If you answer such a question with The Quran, the constitution, or something similar, good luck answering the questions about it It's not the name of the book that will impress the panel, its your reasoning for it being your favorite that will impress them. |
