mohammad ali and others,

the time given for autobiography is 8 minutes. and they ask you a lot more things. like the most crucial events of the year. what do you like/dislike in friends/parents/yourself. your favourite books (not necessarily 3), personalities (and why). your group preference and why so? is corruption inevitable. do you pray regularly? have you read the quran with meaning? etc.

it's better to be oneself in the psychological test. don't pretend to be someone you're not. they're good at their job and they'll find out any contradiction. be thoroughly logical, reasonable and most importantly confident.

nazish amjad,

i didn't even have those two internships. i went to them with just a B.A. degree and they gave me PSP.

for psychological test, there are css-specific books available in market. choose any and practice the tests. infact, i once saw a few links given by our css 2008 topper. you can refer them as well.

the schedule will be announced soon. it will be uploaded on fpsc's website and sent to you via post.

and you can choose any book you want. you should not be concerned with their likes or dislikes. people were telling me that 'the prince' of machiavelli is a very controversial book to choose. i still went on with it.

regards,

Speak more and more, have practice discussions... it is the only way you can improve your speaking skills...

If you don't know something you can straightaway say 'sorry', no need to bluff; and I assure you there is no problem in saying sorry, if you don't know or can't recall something at that time. I did that twice and I am sure it didn't cause me any damage. The interview panel is generally composed of the Chairman and two or three members of FPSC.

you just have to speak two or three times during the discussion. in the remaining time you can just listen to the views of others and nod. while others are speaking, you can form up your opinion [and think about the sentence structure] and as soon as someone gives you the opportunity, carry forward his/her point and give your own opinion as well. you can use english a few words during the urdu discussion. no problem at all.

if you don't know the answer to any of their question, you can simply say sorry and bail yourself out. the interview is conducted in a very friendly atmosphere. they'll try to make you feel at home as soon as you sit in the seat. in fact while you're speaking, they'll even push you on if you're stuck somewhere.

do not interrupt them when they talk. let them finish. when they interrupt you (in an attempt to overwhelm you), ask them to let you finish first. if you need time to think over their question, repeat their question in your words and ask them whether you've understood it properly. don't repeat this.

in case they are winning the argument and you've no way to go, acknowledge it and appreciate them. this is what i believe you should do. others may differ.

the panel consists of chairman + members (varying in number).

regards,

Exclamation @nazish Amjad

Dear,

if u remember, i had told in one o my posts that its not neccesary for u that yr book will be on their choice. i said u just defend yrself by giving arguments in favor of yr book. they can ask u about the theme or main idea of yr book or about the author's life. whoever the author may be. even if he or she is not that popular a writer. they want yr choice, not their own..so pick yr own choice not theirs. by the way nobody knows their choice... we only know our own choice...

As far as book for preparation goes, u can take help from the ISSB psychological preparation book in which there ar the diagrams, pic story etc. Also if u can find a qualified csp to talk to them face to face...

Regards,
Cosmic libertine
