Default Seniors share your experience of Acc and auditing paper.

@french
I agree to your views.

I am also in state of confusion as how marks are awarded in this paper.
In 2008 , one of our senior members of this forum scored 170 plus, but last year this paper shattered hopes of many. I could not find any qualifier of 09 scoring 140 plus in this subject.
Qualifiers will be in better position to guide us. Please seniors share your valuable experience with us .

Accounting papers are always marked according to the steps (correctly) attempted by the candidate.
But the problem is that our markers don't have a set plan. They only know this question is worth 20 marks - 10 for PnL and 10 for B/S. No further marking plan is given to them. In ACCA exams, what they used to do and tell the students as well that how marks are awarded. For example, Prepaid is simple so 1 mark is awarded to it - half mark for treatment in PnL and half mark for treatment in B/Sheet. Depreciation or Bad Debts if requires some working will worth 3 marks and so on. The problem with Pakistani education system is that our Markers know that Marks are 20. Further allocation are done differently by every examiner on his own discretion.
Regards.
