i haven't seen any marks sheets etc but i asked seniors to recommend whether to opt economics or not as i have done m.sc economics. a few suggested not to opt as its low scoring and its scores range from 120-25 on average. a few encouraged me to opt it as they thought it was high scoring subject. but then i decided not to opt, because the opponents were more. i will not suggest u personally, because in css all what we need is SCORES. u have plenty of other high scoring subjects and u can go for them (in your profile u have mentioned geography OR economics) geography has consistently been scoring subject, its my optional subject as well so i have some know how about it, its very easy to prepare.... final choice is always yours

Thanks JIA for ur opinion, but geography was not scoring in 2010 exam as I saw in dmcs...so will it will be fine to opt with out having the basic knowledge and interest?waiting.........

The score in Economics can range between 115 to 145. It will depend upon the demand of question and your ability of sloving it in best possible way and covering all angles to reach out at upper limit. I don't have any athentic information, but I assume that if paper is attempted in excellent form that it may get upto 155 (It's my assumption).

yes its scoring subject dear... i got last time
Economics:
Paper A:80
Paper B:66
Total :146

but i cannot qualify due to less marks in English..
