No Teacher Needed....
Well I have also started preparing this subject lately for the next year's CE and what I have observed is that you dont really need a teacher for mastering the concepts of this subject. I base my this assumption on the following facts:
Firstly all the topics are very general in nature, there is alot of material there on the internet to understand a topic. There is no complexity whatsoever involved in preparing of this subject, If you have any acquaintance who has studied International Relations in his masters or bachelors I am sure he would second me in saying that its all too simple and general. Secondly understanding this subject needs a good knowledge of the current affairs, contemporary world politics, good knowledge of history and an eye that can critically evaluate any international event. If you have all the above abilities, IR isn't going to be a problem for you. Lastly it hardly takes three to four hours in preparing a topic completely, but if you go to a teacher the process of going an then coming back atleast takes an hour, secondly u have to get dressed up this wastes time too. Remember we have only 6 months of our prep remaining so we should manage our time too. Instead if you sit at home infront of your laptop you will yourself explore all the things, instead when a teacher teaches you he will only tell you things he has studied and at times your study and research can be far more informative than the teacher. The best strategy to prepare IR would be to Take a topic For instance we have to study foreign policy and determinants of foreign policy, go to youtube try finding a good lecture on it, jot down the important points from the lecture. Now open google try to get atleast 7-8 research papers on the topic combine the important points from the articles an your topic gets ready. Now this was just the theoretical part of preparation, since IR is an applied field so think of the questions that you can have about IR in the CE, consult past papers and repeat the same exercise of watching a lecture or two followed by research of the topic. I found this to be the best method and it is going to work too Insha Allah. best of luck to all |

Professor Zahid Aziz teaches at World Times Academy Lahore. Candidates may contact at academy's admin office.
Good thing is World Times Academy offers an opportunity for the candidates who want to take classes of a single subject only. So, a candidate can enroll for IR only. Fee for single subject is 6000. IR subject syllabus takes 2 months to be covered fully. So I think, 6000 for two months are affordable. I have seen at this forum some members advising others Quote:
