Default How to use Newspaper in understanding IR
Hlw Seniors-
I m the css aspirant of 2013- it is my first attempt-i have opted ir as an optional subject- infact i have studied it and understood alittle bid but stil confused about my concepts regarding questions which are not pure theorical and related to current situations-
i have read on the forum that newspaper also helps in understanding ir- i just want to understand how i can use newspaper to understand ir concepts-
plz help me in this respect-
i read all portion of international page of newspaper but donot understand hw it is applied in ir-
plz all dear seniors help me- plzzzz

@silent star..; Listening carefully what does the newspaper say. Newspaper is the voice of society-state, individuals to nations and national-international forums. So listening carefully the voice of newspaper means understanding the entire news from a precise but comprehensive background, roads leading to events or conflicts-cooperation and in the end understanding the conclusion with possibe outcomes in the form of its merits and demerits. If you understand, it means I have'nt understood so far how to read the newspaper and if you don't, it means, I am good in understanding the news in papers.>

I have got the idea but still not been able to pick it clearly-
well it be possible if your elaborate ur view by giving an example so that we may get it clearly-

For IR newspaper is a handy resource. Newspapers like Dawn carries lot of info in this regard:
For IR purpose, pay attention to page 12, 13 and 14 which contains important and current regionaland international issues and developments i,e

Palestine-israel conflict
Iran nuclear program and IAEA
Syria crisis
Envirnmental politics
afghanistan conflict
China-us ties
South-east china sea and politics on it
And many more........

Study past papers and be selective
