International relations is better. Pol. Science syllabus is lengthy and political thoughts are troublesome.
I am graduate in political science but i have changed my optional due to these political thoughts.(Soch unki bhugtein hum) never.

IR is better but Political Science will fetch better score. The choice is yours. Although Political Science will suck your blood but in the result days, it will make you relax to be allocated in one of your favorite groups.

Going by the record, you're mistaken friend😊.... IR is far better than Political Science-but owing to the changes brought in by the FPSC-one should prepare International Law well cause I think in the succeeding CSS exams, International Law would get a lion's share in IR.
Good luck!

In that case, i suggest you to study pol science for a month. You will desire to get rid of it.
(Only because of political thoughts)

Yeah, IR is a bit overlapped with I-law. Adil bhai, you will see many candidates will fail with sinking colours on account of IR's nature. Because you have to be really unique in IR and you need broad research work in order to bound checker for awarding you robust score. However, Political Sc, though a bit lengthy but it can never be a cause of your failure. "Point should be noted"!

In order to understanding thoughts, you have to do really hard work. If not, then you will definitely feel that you are going to kick the bucket as I already said it would suck your blood. Everybody is opting IR and it is a short cut to pass CSS with patli gali. In this case, luck matters a lot. Thus, you have two ways; with "patli gali" and "hard working". Again, the choice is yours and you are the master of your own will. Wish you best of luck.

My analysis about Political science and IR. Only political thoughts are bit tough,it looks like that.I didn't study yet any political thoughts.Beside politiccal thoughts all the syllabus are easy.Paper 2 section B which is of 70 marks has government and politicals in Pakistan which overlaps with Pakistan affairs.People says that IR overlaps with CA,i will say that Pol science overlaps with PA and Indo Pak history..Look at the books recomended by FPSC for political science..Beside four or five books on political science all others books are about politics in Pakistan which is really helpful in CA and indo pak history

For me especially it's political science.
The philosophers only take 50 marks and I would never do a total overhaul of 200 marks, just for the 50 marks.

I've already learnt 4 constitutions in my graduation. And almost all the other topics have been covered as well.

All I have to learn are philosophers

And it's helping me in Constitutional Law and Governance and Public policies. So according to me if someone has studied this before then Political Science is a very smart choice.

Otherwise

to each his own
