Query regarding philosophers of Western Political thought
I am preparing western political thought. coming from a science background, it seems difficult to grasp the concept of it. I was wandering if anyone could tell me only the imp philosophers - not only philosophers but also their theories too- e.g my book has almost 6-7 theories of plato and 7-8 of Aristotle. And we all know that these philosophers are very imp. Do we need to prepare all the theories? or some can be left?

Answer
Dear Friend,
Philosophers are integral part of political science paper 1 and part 1. It would be disastrous if you do not understand philosophies properly. First , every candidate have to develop imagination to understand philosophies and after development of imagination, story telling is second step. Learn philosophy like story. Let's understand theory of Hobbes, and Locke state of nature. Both philosopher pondered on question," how was state develop? " Imagine a jungle where all human being used to live. There were very limited resources. One day one person got a lot of meat and other foods, other people came to him and desired to rob meat from him. Fighting between those people were started and they beat each other. To solved a fight between individuals, God sent king and king created a state. State had been created by divine order. From above example, inference of state of nature of Hobbes was very cruel and human beings were involved in fighting each other.Come to John Locke. John Locke state of nature is different and creation of state is also different from Thomas Hobbes. In John Locke state of nature, Human lived in any place very peacefully and social. They respected each other and loved each other. One day, one one said, " this is my land, on one has right to come, live and work here, and stay out of here" and other man also done same thing that was occupation of territory. Individual owned private property and there was no right of other on one's individual property. One day, a goat of one person entered into fields of other person and ate some grass or fruits. Owner were informed and he came out with naked sword and want to kill goat and owner of goat. From this incident, fighting was started. Fighting was started because of private property. Thousand of tribal man were died, killed, injured and buried in this fighting. People recognized that there was great loss of life and property and we had to solve this problem. So they all were consented to create a body through which they would solved their problems and this body was recognized as government and state came into being through consent of people to created state because people pledge to government for solution of their problems.
