a=vdv/dx=-k/(x^2)

implies

vdv=-kdx/(x^2)

integrate RHS from R to r

how did you solve it?

waqas bhai...
limits should be from r+R to r
because R is altitude {altitude is from surface of earth} and x is distance from center of earth as mentioned in question so when dropped from altitude R then x is actually R plus radius of earth r so x is r+R at altitude R

summing up

one limit of x at altitude R is = r+R
one limit of x at surface of earth is = r

:P
