can anyone please tell me in which book could i find the gradient and divergence topic?? the topic is under mechanics title...

these two books are more than enough

1. Vector and Tensor Analysis by Dr. Nawazish Ali Shah
2. Schaum's Outlines Series ---- Vector Analysis with an Introduction to Tensor
Analysis

sorry for contradicting u sir
these book dont not give theoratical detail of vector as theory is also require in physics
these books are good for applied math....

Don't be sorry you have right.
I mention these books because all question from past show that question are of numerical type, very few demand theory.
Second Nawazish book also cover theory in detail, rest is your choice.

nawazish book cover theory i agree........but if u read its topics its more from mathematical point of view not from physics point of view
2nd thing in physics even vector q consist of two parts 1 theoratical and other numerical so theory is necessary even for vectors also
3rd dont u think that nawazish book language is tough.........

i my self prepare from Nawazish book i did not find its language difficult. If you found it then go for some foreign book or some other good book. Still confusion let me know, i will might help you.

sir i dont have any problem in these topics as i have covered these topics from arfikin but i dont recomend that book because it is master level book.......and i cover it from M H Musadiq book
