Default is current vector?

as we all knows that current has both magnitude and direction but we consider it a scalar quantity ?
y is it so?

according to my knowledge as it does'nt obey vector addition etc thats y we call it scalar quantity.if m wrong do correct me. waiting 4 respond!

@ravila
according to my little knowledge current is scalar because of two reasons.
as current is I = q/t , q and t both are scalar so current is scala.
2 is that current do not follow vector rule for addition so it is scalar. it example is from kirchofs current rule. hope it is correct
regards

there is no physical change in direction, to be classified as a vector change should be physical, current is due to vibration of electrons by transfer of energy so it is scalar unlike velocity, acceleration etc.

Very special 1 is more than right,these are the only two reasons because of which we consider current as scalar quantity.

zeeshanmahdi is on a distinguished road
Default zeeshanmahdi

its only reason is that current is ratio of scalar quantities so it is not a vector quantity similar to area of a plane , that is also a scalar but for its physical representation we use its direction normal to the plane.
