sufis, religious scholars, men of letters, travellers, authors, famous courtiers, and everyother thing............However it is an unfortunate fact that the history of that period is primarily the history of kings and their whims and fancies. Not very fascinating. I have read upto razia sultana hitherto and i find the story very monotonous....A slave by endearing himself to his master rise to great power and carry out expeditions, appoint governors, face revolts, recapture areas, and then suddenly disappear into oblivion, followed by weak successors then emerge another slave turned king and thus repeat the same story...However every successive ruler has taken India one step closer to muslim rule which seem to have finally crystallized during Iltutmish's reign.
