Default Indo Pak Book by K.Ali

Well many people have suggested Books by K.Ali for Indo-Pak but as far my experience in CE-2012, it lacks many things and some dates are wrong in the book.
e.g
Page 228, Topic Iltimush,
Last Paragraph
Shah of Khwarizm, in 1224, came to Lahore.

But actually he came to Lahore in 1214

Dates are mostly given by years and not exact dates, whereas CSS MCQs are all about exact dd-mm-yyyy.

It lacks Maps. You can never study History especially Wars without maps. Muslim invaders kept attacking India from North West and afterwards even Dehli Sultanates have been carrying out many wars to crush rebels.

But K.Ali goes without maps and a beginner never knows which city is where and from where to which city has a muslim invader invaded......it makes a mess at the end......Because all the cities were captured by all the rulers separately.......

Many Cities have been left which were taken as well.......K.Ali is silent when Lahore wastaken by Ghaznavi and then Ghori as well........

Student might feel this book a bit un-sufficient in the exam hall......

It is still good book for Indo-Pak but not sufficient alone.....There are many spelling mistakes in it

Similarly the Paper Quality of the Book doesnot commensurate to its Price of Rs700.00

It is always better to consult 3 to 4 resources for any history paper.

It will not only help you to have confirm dates and places rather it will also develop your critical skills and critical reasoning is a key to success in CSS exams.

Exactly I second you. There is need to refer more than one book to cover the syllabus for subjective as well as objective part. It'll be a very good strategy.

i think consulting Lane-poole is must for history paper. Studying Lanepoole gives you pleasure and critical insight and one gets aware of the typical history language that gives a beautiful outlook to the paper
