Default Post-partition book required.

Can anyone please suggest me a book on post-partition history of Pakistan? There are so many books available upto 1947 but i can't find a good book beyond that. The book should be concise, relevant and unbiased. Suggestion would be welcome.

Thumbs up

I would strongly recommend you Pakistan A New History written by Ian Talbot and published by Oxford

Its a recently published book containing 8 chapters
The Contents are
  • Pakistan: Land, People, Society
  • Understanding the Failure of Pakistan' First Experiment with Democracy 1947-58
  • Ayub's Pakistan: The End of the Begining
  • Bhutto's Pakistan: A Missed Opportunity
  • Zia and the Quest for Pakistan's Stability
  • Pakistan's Democratic Interlude 1988-99
  • The Janus State: Pakistan Under Musharraf
  • Surviving the Storm: Zardari's Pakistan

About the book Maleeha Lodhi wrote
"An invaluable guide for navigating and understanding Pakistan's complex, byzantine politics. No other contemporary history of Pakistan come anywhere near Talbot's understanding and detail of its challenges and missed opportunities"

Sir please no official writers, we all know the facts and figures. I was looking a book that critically and dispassionately looks into things, not just stating things as what, when, where and why.

@xeesabir
sir thank you so much for this nice suggestion. I think i got what i was looking for. God bless you.
