Very good decision.. Psychology is far better than indopak. Psycho fetches good score, even beyond your expectations..

It is my observation and experience. Any one can disagree!

The reason for the poor performance was that I studied only ordinary books for that attempt (Qureshi, Rabbani etc)

Means per answer only five pages?

What is the nature of your introduction and conclusion?

and what about the references/quotations?

Thanks

No that means 2.5 pages (1 page = 2sides). Introduction would vary from question to question. For example: In 2013, we had this question about "Hindu-Muslim Good relations period of 1913-1916". So my introduction included Partition of Bengal, then division in Congress and Muslim leaders. Creation of Muslim League and why initially Muslim league was pro-British (which led to the exclusion of nationalist leaders like Quaid-e-Azam) and why this period started.

So introduction is not something specific. A few questions demand a direct introduction while others require an indirect introduction.

I don't specially quote a reference. But yes I quote famous lines. For example: "Nehru's statement after 1937 elections that there are 2 powers in India: The British and the Congress and that all others must align themselves." I quoted it in the 1937 Elections Questions. I also quoted Quaid's reply to this statement.

@Umar
Brother i have K. Ali's and Sohail bhatti's books for Indo-pak. What do you say about them? i mean do you put them in ordinary books category or what?
One more question: You have shared your strategy of studying Indo-pak in Indo-pak section. like you said its has 3 parts and by studying 2 out of 3 we can get through it with good marks.
So did you really followed that strategy in you ce-2013 attempt? Should i follow the same?

Brother, I have not studied Sohail Bhatti's book. But K.Ali's book is more suited for a revision (or for the final preparation before the exam day). K. Ali is extremely ordinary (not because of the content alone- but because of the fact that 99.99% of the candidates would pen it down in the exam )

yeah I followed this strategy::

For Paper 1:

-Arabs and Turks (The Delhi Sultanate)
-Arts and Architecture, Sufism
-Mughals

I always skipped the Mughals section.

For Paper 2:
-Pre-1947 period
-Post 1947 period
-Problems of Pakistan

I would do only pre-1947 period and the problems of Pakistan. The post 1947 period I used to skip.

Brother, the decision to follow it or leave it is solely yours to take I can just point out what I did. you should select your own course of action

For Arabs, and the Sultanate Era: The Delhi Sultanate by V.D Mahajan

For 1947 pre era:
The Shadow of the Great Game: The Untold Story of India's Partition is a great book to understand the concepts of what really happened within Congress, ML etc.

I got 133

69 and 64

My second paper was superb one . I was happy with this paper . I was expecting marks near 80 ..or 80 plus . I thought that I would manage to get 150 plus or near 160 . But i got 130 plus simply .. It is not scoring , if i have chosen Arabic and employed the same level of input , then I would managed to get 180 . I am sure because , i opted Arabic in my B.A and one day preparation fetched 95 /100 marks . So I will advise to all not to chose it .
