Default Sample Answer required!
can anybody tell me how to attempt a question of US history paper? or if someone could share tips to write an answer to a question, i would be very grateful

note:this is my second topic and i really hope it won't go unanswered like the first one
Seniors consider it a request from a beginner i have scanned through much of the forum and i could not find the response to my querry.so, please help me out as i am really in a confused state of mind right now!

Well U.S history is not my optional neither do i know much about that.
But dont you think question itself tell you how to answer it.
means it says like.
Define and explain. or give various types of.
so by this way it tells you how to answer any question.
or if you want to know about heading? you can use headings n bullets and numbering for improving readability.
and try to write in straight lines. with reasonable spacing among lines (as answer sheets are blank and not lined) or still if you want to know something else. plz explain it clearly so that if any one knows the answer of your question, he/she may reply.

thank you so much arbab for your response.well, what i wanted to ask was what should an ideal response include and how long an answer should be?
apart from quotes and headings, what other things make an answer scoring?

Dear these are the same things which we have been learning from nursery n prep. Answer should be neat, to the point. if time allows make good diagrams n labelled wherever needed. And also draw maps n locations if anywhere needed and time allows. Using heading, bullets to increase bullets. clearly illustrate strong points of your answer by making that writing prominent in anyway by bullets or writing a bit larger. Make you answer easy to be assessed by the examiner.

well its my firs attempt too...

Q.2. Why England failed to take the initiative in the colonization of the American continent? What factors were responsible for the British interest in establishing their colonies in the areas that are now part of the United States of America? (20)

if this is the question then...

first i ll tell how spain n portugal initiated .... what was their strategy why they took interesst in the colonization, what were the reasons of their expansion.. (there are many factors)

then write why England didnt took part at first..

then go for Englands interest to colonize in usa...

i think this will take your answer to about 3-5 sheets... or more...
but i thnk better is too give proper bold headings...

i hope am going right...

Thank you Arbab for taking out your precious time to answer me query.This is surely going to help.

Sumaira its very kind of you to come up with an example and thats what i actually meant when i had asked for a sample answer.This is my first attempt too ,it seems to me you are going fine, but only seniors can endorse my opinion.By the way which books are you following? i have just finished reading a book by Commager on US history, though its good for having an idea of the subject but i am looking for some book which i can consult for making my notes.

P.S Commager does not narrate the arrival of Portugese and Spaniards In America, he began with English ships anchoring at the shores of Chespeake Bay.

Well members i also opted US History & consult Majumdar book. i've prepared some notes of it. not completely. i've just study the book & write into own explanation, if u ppl required the same just send me ur id on (******), i'll mail u, further i'll send u some books via e-mail. in pdf format these will help u in preparation.
