Q:discuss the merits and demerits of present system of election and compare it with the system adopted in electing the KHULFAI RASHIDIN?

I would give a two liner, The Election of Khulfaa was a different matter as they were esteemed companions of the prophet, They were elected by a "Shuraa", a council and later endorsed by the people of that time,
whereas present electoral system if you are specific about democratic election procedure, you know candidates are popularly elected through universal suffrage.
