Dear Morningcloud,
I am a medial doctor,want to opt zoology,what do u think about its course,lengthy or? can u tell the books u studied which cover the syllubus?

No doubt, its course is lenghty. You have to have a strong background of this subject otherwise it can prove disaster. I opted this subject becuase I have mastered in this subject.
I studied Miller Harley Zoology. It's available in markets and in pdf format at scribd too.Miller Harley's book covers a big chunk of syllabus. I consulted the notes that I were given during studies at university. I also prepared some of topics from internet i.e. coral reefs and their importance.

Did u consult only Miller Harley Zoology excluding notes? Not any other book ?

i opted zoology twice.although i m masters in biochemistry.i my first attempt i got 127 n now i got 147.so it is a scoring subject.

When I started preparation, I had
A Text Book of Zoology (Invertibrate) Parker and Haswell
Comprative Anatomy of the vertebates George C.kent
Text Book of Medical Physiology Guyot.W.B
I read these books thoroughly as these books were refrence books for zoology paper in CSS. In the end, I reached the conclusion that Miller harley is the best book. If you prepare from this book, you'll realize it in the end that this book has saved your time.
My strategy was to make my study paper-oriented rather than cramming it all. For example, one question that I attempted was to give a brief account of parasitism in Protozoa. If you read the book, you'll not find answer to this question one one page rather the answer is given in parts and discussed under sub-phylums. So Raed this book objectively and analytically. Inshallah you'll be able to get good marks

you are saying absolutely right, i have read Miller & Harley during my B.Sc. it's very accurate & helping according to css syllabus.
I'll appear in CE2014 InshaAllah with this option.
