Please tell me whether we have to learn poetry of "Amrul-Qais and Zunahir Ibn Salma" only or there are other poms also which should be learnt?????

Dear, every poet has its own poetic collection. The collection of seven poets of dor-e-jahlia is termed as 'saba mualaqat'. Although mualaqat of Hassan bin sabit and Lubaid are also included in syllabus but they are rerely asked in exam. Translation of Poetry question may usually be attempted by memorizing the poetry/mualaqat of only these two poets (umrul qais and zuhair)

Usman bhai i am really in doldrums over opting Arabic as i want to replace it with geography-as paper 2 in 2012 went dismally wrong. i have purchased hasan ziat's book and hafiz arshad notes but translation passage and also essay in arabic language making me feel anxious. What u suggest to master writing proficency and translating passage. Regards

Brother, CSS 2012 Arabic papers were really easy as compared to 2011 Arabic papers. All the expected and important topics were asked. Even in paper 2, poetic verses were given from the same two poets Amra ul Qais and Zuhair. You need to see past papers and cover the required syllabus contents. MCQs and short questions have been solved an provided with the notes by Hafiz Arshad sb. Mostly these repeat in subsequent years. It is advisable to learn basic Arabic grammar to attempt Arabic portion. You neet to memorize translation of poetic verses of both Amra ul Qais and Zuhair. This will cover your 40 marks portion.
