Yeah exactly just short questions, short essay and MCQs are asked in Arabic. Rest of the paper is in Urdu or English (I think its 65-70% not 80%). Yes you can opt Arabic with no any requirement of Arabic Background

If you are good at Arabic grammar, and feel confident than go for it. Otherwise it would be a risk. Because, for writting essay or answering the short questions, you need grammar and vocabs of Arabic. And 65% is only urdu/english, the rest 35% is arabic including short answers, essays and mcqs. I would suggest you to opt easy and scoring subject because it would be rational choice and appropriative for you. As far as I have come to know that It would be tough and a lot of time is required in order to cram this subject. I had opted this subject, even purchased its books of Jahangir serious two boosk, and three books by Carvan serious, besides also have got some notes. To be honest, after reading and wasting my two weeks I drooped it. However, if you have got good teacher then go for it. No doubt, Arabic is very good and scoring subject, but it needs hard working and a teacher in my case. I have shared with you my experience. The rest you are the master of your own choice.
