Are Maps part of the syllabus?
Can anyone please guide me if Maps are included in the syllabus. If yes, please let me know the scope and extent of the topic in the syllabus. To make matters easy, I am preparing from Sarfraz Ahmed Bajwa, and would appreciate if anyone can let me know what chapters I should prepare. Sounds noobish, but this happens when you waste months and start prepping at the last time.
Thanks! |

Yes they are! You need to go through the map projections in detail.

Thanks but how much depth is required e.g.
1)Projections are discussed in quite some detail in Sarfraz Ahmed Bajwa but are quickly discussed in De Blij and Strahler. Which one should I follow? 2)Are other associated concepts such as isopleths, choropleths, bar graphs etc included? |

Is it safe to leave maps in choice? I am aiming for maximum possible/100% marks in Geography and just passing is not what I want. I have full command over all other topics and was thinking if I could drop Maps section. Would easy the load. What do you say?

If you are aiming for 100% You have got to work for 100% isn't it? Therefore, try to have an understanding of the topic related to maps as well. The best possible way to understand how much should be done is to go throw past examinations. By surfing the asked question on the topic of maps, you will get the idea how much you should prepare to what is usually asked.
Thank You!

Most important topics are -Planetry winds -Insolation -Ocean currents - Rocks -Climate - precipitation -midlatitude and tropical cyclone -landforms fluvial, glacial, karst (This time there are chances of fluvial) -Tides But You must have a little knowledge about all other topics as well. humidity, erosion, weathering, lapse rates, clouds, earthquake, folds faults, alnino, mud wasting etc I would suggest you to go through the past papers and note down the important topics and start preparing.
