Advice on selection of subjects
It is difficult to assess/guarantee subject combination with complete assruance of its being the scoring combination in a particular year. The scoring trend for any subject may change in a particular year. So, luck is equally important as hardwork. Considering your combination, candidates having this combination in CSS 2009 were among best scorers as Indopak, Journalism, Sociology, IR all were scoirng. On the other hand, in CSS 2010, Indopak and Journalism were least scoring and many candidates suffered on the hands of these subjects. Therefore, only God knows what scoring criteria for a particular subject will be followed by FPSC in CSS 2011 and onwards. All you can do for being on safer side even in the worst scenario is to select the subjects which have been not as bad-scoring as some subjects mentioned above. Geography has been quite cosistent in its scoring trend in previous years. Same is the case with International Law and Regional Languages. So better think about these choices inplace of Indopak. As far as Journalism is concerned, result of CSS 2011 may predict its future scoring trend. I personally feel that Journalism will be among scoring subjects for atleast CSS 2012. The reason being many candidates didn't opt Journalism in CSS 2011 after its disastrous result in CSS 2010. When a subject is opted by fewer number of candidates, there is a lot of room/margin to create impression in the paper and thus it may turn out to be scoring.
The bottom line is whatever you want to opt for... keep in mind the scoring trends. Try to opt for subjects which have proved to be atleast average scoring even in the worst scenario.
