Default Need help in understanding certain topics under Geography
1. Environmentalism
2. Possibilism
3. Cultural determinism
4. Central Place Theory
i,ve read these topics for Geography paper 2 but i didn't get it all.i dnt even know what they are trying to say especially in Possibilism...plz someboby suggest me an easy way to understand these topics as im doctor and geography is very much in contrast to my understandings(although paper 1 is very easy).

dr shb ma kosish kerte hun k apko easy words ma main idea de dun jo apne pucha ha uska.

1: enviromentalism ma scientist darwin ki theory se bohat impress tha or unka ye kehna tha k human being apne enviroment ke subservient ha aur wo uske age bebas ha,yehe enviroment unka culture bhi bannay ma eham kirdaar ada kerta ha.

e.g polar area ma log waise ghar nhi bana sakte jaise plain areas ma bana skte han,bcoz wahan ka enviroment unko allow nhi kerta aur wo kuch nhi ker sakte siwaye is ke k igloos ma rahen.

another example is that of fishing profession in coastal area, flood e.t.c

but it was denied by 21st century social scientists and they put farward another theory that ws

enviromental possibilism/probabilism

scientist ka kehna tha k human is not fully subservient and not fully master of his enviroment.

he can modify his enviroment to some extent acccording to his need like green house farms, dams to control floods,transportation system in mountain terrain and new biotech in unfavourable areas are some of the examples.

cultural determininsm is same is me apk culture ko study kerte ho with respect to enviroemntal condition.

theory of central place mje abhi sahi tarha yaad nhi ha ma apko read ker k btaon gi,aise nhi bta sakte may be kahen koi wrong info he na post ho jay.

i hope apko samjh a gaya ho ga aur agar seniors ko mere reply ma koi galati lagay to plz muje aur baki sab ko bhi correct kerwa degea ga.

you are most welcome dr.usman. honestly speaking i consulted 3 books but 1 book which i found easy and had already studied during my graduation was
fundamental of human geography by Mian Muhammad Anwar.

Can you give us tips on Geo II, as in whats the best format in answering questions, concise to the point & what about diagrams. Also i wanted to ask about the startegy of Current affairs

I have also read Mian Muhammad Anwar's books. they are written in very easy language. one can get idea very easily by reading
