@saqib riaz
your opinion is respected, but these two books mentioned by you, especially the imtiaz-for-god-sake-shahid's book is REALLY not enough when you are considering the syllabus of journalism for css. One will agree if he goes through this book, it's nothing but poor references and quotations from foreign books, and that too, haphazardly copy-pasted and with no sense at all!!! Not to mention the jumbo size of the book too!

The book by Dr mehdi Hassan is OK, but NOT enough.
you know, these two books are mentioned at all the places for safe option, but if you read these, and the past papers and syllabus, you will come to know that these are not enough!

Apart from many good books which are being mentioned in different threads, the following books are really helpful ( and they are not expensive at all, ranging from 60 to 150 bucks):

*Towards Journalism (it covers most of part I and part II)
*Reporting in Pakistan (foreign author) (this book will cover ONLY the news section).
*Scholastic Journalism (foreign book)
*Journalism from A to Z: Emporium publishers (writer is sumthing ali rizvi)

Regards,
P.S: hey, no offense at all :P

Dear drmkshahzad
You are very positive on the aspect of preparation.Its correct and i have learned from CSS forum that subject selection and scoring subject concepts are not important and realistic to go with,but my point ,as mentioned above was that as we need a slow start over to understand it properly.As after class 10th i did my DBA then i did my BSc in applied accounting then charted accountancy ( in process ) the thing we know is 2+2.Now intrest does matter but your book matters alot in helping you to get clear on what you study.All the books i am going through are making it a bit difficult to pick the concepts.So i requested for reference of good books so that It may help me to get clear concepts of the topics in the course of examination.
Although thank you for sharing your ideas and advices.discussions clear alot of misconceptions.

Warm Regards;
