Question 2010 Disappointment

Dear All,

I opted for Journalism this year. As par my standards, my paper was milli meter perfect. But I'm not the only one. Almost everybody on this forum says the same. But why we all failed to score high? I scored 46, though not that bad as some of my friends have scored.

Is it the "Trend" or "Us"? or the combination of both?

Please state your reasons, observations, and justifications regarding this issue. By the way I'm still sticking to this subject in my 2nd try that is in 2012. Who is with me?

It is the trend some times and most of the times both....
FPSC commission has its own pre-requisites and they make policies every year. This time it was journalism, indian history and Islamiat.

Note: You never know, which is subject is going to be slaughtered the very next year. Even the commission decides it few days before the policy making process befor exam starts. So nobody can say anything. Work hard!!!! Nothing else we are supposed to do and even we can't....

Regards

Dear Mussavir!!!

Its the combination of both. we should assess from the previous papers that now FPSC demands analytical approach from the candidates pursuing CSS. I made most of my prepration from internet. Acquaint urself with the latest trends in journalism along with the bookish knowledge.

By the way i got 61 marks this year and i am going to STICK to it in 2011 as well

Wink Dear Brother

I don't like to be engaged in technalities of doing hard work or wrong subjects collection, I belive that you 'no doubt' would have did hard work but couldn't get pass score. Its neither your misktae to have that subject nor your misfortune. My Brother got 645 in 2009 but coildn't stand among selection. Now this year he scored 735 but couldn't pass Essay. The only reason is that ALLAH SUBHANA O TALAH handles us and he knows better what, when, how for us. Be relax and hope to get more and better in future. Success will be yours INSHALLAH.

Default Dear Brother

Well, Histories are scoring subjects but some times it becomes hard to have sequence of dates and incidents stick to the mind. Wish you all the best.

thanx bro and sorry for the late reply as i remained quite out of touch with the forum.
By latest trends i mean the latest developments in different fields of journalism. For instance when it comes to the means of advertising or latest trends in advertising u can add things like WEB BANNER ADVERTISING, BLOGS, MOBILE ADVERTISING etc. This will reflect ur up-to-date approach towards the subject.
Many a things will remain the same like contribution of muslim journalists in pakistan movement, news value etc, but in other topics like advertising, public relations, qualities of a journalist, latest trends in mass media and its effects u can add many new developments.
To update my work, i just googled out the desired topic and after reading 4-5 webpages used to note down those points which were new and striking.Rest of my preparation i made from M.Asif Malik book by Emporium publishers and exploring journalism by Mirza M. Yousaf but i just skimmed through this book.As far as the names of the net sources are concerned i never bothered to see their names as they were many.
Hope the question is answered.
Best of luck
Regards.
