The functions of an editorial is to analyse current issues prevailing in any sphere of life, nationally or internationally, and try to contribute in the formation of a learned public opinion.

editorial is basically that journalistic essay which comments on news.
its main function is to give analysis effects and background details of news.news only tell us what is happening around us while editorial tell us detail about news.

its function depends on its ingrediants because following are elements of editorial page:

2) political.social.religious,educational and economical coloumns
3)cartoons
4)stanzaz of the poets
5)letters to the editor
6)sayings of iqbal and jinah
7)humorous coloumns
8)personal opinion
