First of all, sift through past papers, you need to check the utility of the following strategy that I have.....

1.Prepare the following portion well as you can ...........

Nazm:
i). Lok Geet
ii). Classical Shaeri a). Only Sufi Shaer
iii). Navin Shaeri complete

Nasr:
i). Islami Adab ( Tenu:Mawaza Nosho,Sachi Sarkar,Khutbat e Iqbal)
ii). Takhliqi Nasr (complete:Hath,Tahli de thalle,Kalian Ittan Kale Ror)

Insha Allah Question Koi nahi miss ho ga, then

2. Just read like novel the rest of syllabus...........
a). Dastanan
b). Tarikh te Tehqiq

Now, the books those appealed me are:
i). Adab Samandar
ii). Adab Preet
iii). Jahangir's Punjab Rang

These are enough either you like to study thoroughly or you want selective one.

Strategy for preparation:
For part 1 prepare loc geet and classic poetry only.
Read loc geet carefully, jab pata lag jaye ga k lori kia hoti hai dhola kia hota hai etc u can make ashaar yourself. you dont have necessarily to quote ones mentioned in the books.
You should have complete command on classic poetry. Consult past papers to know what kind of questions are asked from classic poetry. memorise the headings and at least one shair for one heading. to memorise ashaar keep repeating them in loud voice. other way to memorise ashhar is to download soofi kalams of sultan bahu n bulleh shah etc sung by different singers and listen to them. another important thing that you must have punjabi to urdu dictionary. you should be aware of the meaning of the shair.

for part two
mawaiz nosha, hath, kaliya itta and tahli day thalay are enough.
ill give the link if anyone wants to have a quick look at the novels(hath kalia itta kalay roray). after reading novel you can answer any question asked from them.

AOA,
dear all fellow members i got 89 marks

Following was my strategy

1). I followed single book that is book written by jappa published by Jahangir sons.
2). attempted three question from poetry
3). wrote 12 to 15 poetic verses(asha'ar) in average in each poetry question. and in two question i wrote 20 plus Asha'ar.
4).concluded each question in my words under the heading of 'Mukdi Gall'
5). all aspirants u can manage punjabi only by cramming poetry.

Only luck impeded me from becoming a DMG/POLICE officer(as my written score was 753 and dropeed in essay), the main theme to quote my failure is to boost you people that you can only work hard and can never plan result as that is in ALLAH's HAND...

best wishes for all aspirants.

Regards,

Baloch
