Default 197th BIRTH DAY of Sir Henry Bartle Frere.
Its the 197th birth day of Ex-Commissioner Sindh Sir Henry Bartle frere, today. he remained commissioner of sindh during 1851 to 1859. he established the committee to make and recommend sindhi alphabet. he recommended the arabic form and rejected Devnagri Script for sindhi. he made sindhi compulsory for all officers appointed and posted in sindh, and sindhi became official language of sindh in his period. he proposed laying of Railway track from Karachi to kotri and also developed the karachi sea port. he established the postal system in sindh which gave the idea of postal stamp namely "SINDH DISTRICT DAAK". in this way he honoured sindh to issue 1st postal Stamp in Asia and subcontinent. he got prepared the text books insindhi even.
