Thumbs down suggested books

@rajajani
dear i dont agree with jisqanee's book

u can get pirated edition of horton and hunt for just rupees 200 from ilmi book deput and other shops of urdu bazar.

2ndly i suggest u to read SOCIOLOGY: A DOWN TO EARTH APPROACH
u can get this book photocopied from p.u dept of sociology liberary. if there would be any hurdle give my refferevce to the liberary staff. they will inshallah help u.
study either of the above said books further u need to study graduate level book of sociology by Abdul hameed tagga. this book would help u understand sociology with refference to pakistan. dont be confused by choosing too many books but concenterate on one of these to get the conceptual understanding of the topics.

regards

Dear rajajani,

I hold M.A sociology and had Sociology as one of my optional subjects. My experience says the following things:

An introduction to Sociology is a good book but all definations of the concepts plus examples in this book have been taken from Horton Hunt's book. so if u read Javed's book , there is no need to study Horton and Hunt.

Secondly, in Javed's book sociological research is not well-written. For this You can study any book authored by a foreign writer.
In sociology foreign writers are usually prefered. you can creat example of pakistani soceity on your own by observing our society sociologically.

Do use its terminology excessively...

Thanks

prefer some oxford, cambridge or penguin dictionary of sociology, get the definations from there, manipulate your understanding in accordance to the latest researches and reports of our society. that is what , actually appreciated by the examiners. regards
