Exclamation Help: I am having second thoughts about sociology

AOA

I dont want to come off as a creepy stalker but i am in desperate need of help I am trying to give CSS for a second time and i wanted to ditch sociology as i scored 39 even with a well attempted (in my opinion) paper with almost all of the mcqs correct.
The problem is that i chose agriculture instead of sociology and studying agriculture is turning out to be a snoozefest as i find it very boring. Therefore i am having 2nd thoughts about reverting back to sociology. So i wanted to ask you (or anyone else who could help) if you could please tell me whether you solely used notes from the officers academy for sociology and the marks that you achieved with those notes.
I have to make a chioce ASAP cuz the due date for the form submission is near i will be very grateful for your help. Thanks in advance.

Though i am not an expert of Sociology but can suggest you in a good way as i am also studying the same subject for this year examination.
No doubt, you had made all your efforts in Sociology paper but even though you got only 39 marks. There are some reasons which i think may resist the checker to give you abundance marks or any other candidates:
-Every subject has a natural tendency and technique basically, for instance, in Sindhi or Urdu you have to write or talk like a poet or a literary person. Journalism needs your journalistic approach, Law paper or subject needs you to be a responsible and civil obedient citizen and likewise Sociology needs you to be a sociologist.
What actually happens with the students that they study the books of Sociology but do not adapt the way of Sociologist or a Research oriented student of Sociology. A Sociology paper checker checks your social approach, are you yourself acting over the social stuff that you have written here, or you really a social and a observer of society and social interactions.
These all things are needed beside studying the books or subject, which means you to be a perfect sociologist in order to get 60+ marks.

That was what i suppose to be happen. I may be wrong on my side.......
I would suggest you to opt for Sociology and deal it like a Sociologist.

clear ur concepts in sociology first, they may not b more than 100 with definitions, keep current data about our social problems and international examples, then treat each part in a single sociology question as an independent question , give headings and make the life of checker easy, then there is no reason for low score. Read Horton and Hunt at least first paragraph of each topic.

Remember there are atleast 3 hidden questions in each socio question.

The best way to select between socio and agri is to Attempt past papers of both in exact 3 hours and then make them check by an expert.

Good Luck

Thats the thing. I have studied sociology during my brief stint in BBA and i used Hortan and Hunt for the paper. I also studied the book by Dr Mohammad Khalid and gave ample headings in the paper, but the score was a surprise for me.
For this reason i wanted to know whether notes from acadmy would be a good idea? and whether they are made around the desired answer pattren expected by the markers?
I am worried about scoring low again and want to change to Agriculture but then again after studying (or rather trying to study) agriculture i found it a bit dry and the MCQs difficult as well ( i always hated botany) :P

I don't agree, I followed the same pattern and Alhamdu Lillah scored 80 this year even my few mcqs were right. There must be some problem with your writtigs. whatever u wrote, check ur ideas with a senior! He will get u the answers.

I am afraid that no notes are enough for the paper. The sociology paper is very general. They dont ask, explain socialization or norms, values rather they ask, the burst of western culture and its implications for pakistan. So dont rely on any book or notes, rely on ur presenation and understanding of sociology.

i gave the paper in 2009, i didnt attempt the 2010 exams as i was abroad for my MSc. I am aware that there was something wrong with my presentation or way of tackeling the question, that's why i was asking about the notes that whether they can give me a guideline for attempting a question i need help learning how to present my answers for sociology.

P.S 80 OMG u have to share your secret of success with me
