Prove that “individual is a social produce”. Highlight the contribution of culture and society in this process.
Socialization: Socialization is a process whereby the individual made aware of the appropriate and expected behaviors with regards to the social norms, values, beliefs, and attitudes which are pivotal to live in the society or a culture. Neither a society nor an individual can survive without the socialization. Socialization makes a strong link between the individuals and the society or a culture. Individual is the social product: Individual is the social product in the sense what as a whole and individual is, is the result of socialization process of the society or a culture. Whatever he learns from a society or culture reflect s his personality. Personality of an individual is a social product by the virtue of his uniqueness with respect to his beliefs, thoughts and concepts, moral code of conduct, emotions, attitude and behavior. Consequently the culture and society moulds the personality of its social product. Personality or social product develops him from the different institutions of the society or a culture. These institutes are of two forms that is primary institutes and secondary institutes. Primary institutes are those which take place early in life of an individual. It makes a child aware of the social norms, values, rules and regulations and appropriate behaviors. Primary institutes are family and school. Family is a source of basic needs of a child such as nutrition, safety and rearing needs. It is first primary institute of child’s personality development. Besides family the second primary institute is schools. It develops the personality of a child in term of the grooming skills, knowledge, competency, aspirations and moral code of conduct. Besides primary the secondary institutes are also important for developing the personality of an individual. Secondary institutes are the smaller institutes within a larger society. They are typical concern to the adults or teen agers. Examples of secondary institutes are pear groups, organization, religion and media. From the secondary sources of personality development an individual enhances his competencies, skills, talent and confident and become self-reliant. For example a peer group is a forum of discussion of the problems and issues and providing the solutions of them; organizations are the professionals and business success of the individual’s life and sources of income and conformability of life; Religion is the source of guidance and moral code; Media is the source of information. Hence these secondary institutions shape the personality of an individual make him social product. Contributions of culture and society in making an individual a social product: Every society and culture is comprises of the social norms, values, beliefs system, and rules and regulations. These are the guiding principles for an individual in order to life appropriate and expected life in a society or a culture. Norms are the standards and conventions of appropriate and expected behaviors and code of conduct of a society or a culture which are expected by an individual. For example saying good morning and other grating, saying sorry and thanks, wearing approved clothes on different occasion similar to other people, helping the poor and needy and so on are the norms which shape the appropriate personality of individual. Besides the values of a society or culture which an individual learns what is good, wrong, fair and just or what is important, worthwhile or important striving for to him. For example giving important to money, social status and freedom, moral code of conduct, religions, privacy and security, marriages and respect moulds the personality of an individual in an appropriate and expected way of society or a culture. In addition to it, by interacting with society or a culture an individual recognizes his role as a member of society. Through the various institutions of social development of a society or a culture an individual enhances his competencies, skills, confident, talent, and fulfill his aspirations. Hence as a result he plays his economic, social, cultural, political, educational and occupational role. Please everybody evaluate my answer of the above question. |

Short note - Value and norm
Please everyone evaluate my answer: Criticism would be highly welcomed
Short note - Value and norm Value: values are the general beliefs of individuals or the society with respect to what is wrong, good, fair, and just, for living the happy and appropriate life. Vales are individuals beliefs consideration about what is important, worthwhile and appropriate striving for. The institutes of values are the parents, neighbors, teachers, education, religion, friends and relatives. Value system depends on the many traits including the respects, sincerity, freedom, money, materials goals, good status, moral code of conduct, safety and privacy, religion, marriages, love, peace, self-reliance, rules and regulation,truth and socials relation and so on. The value system highly relies in the culture and society. in some community, values may be respect, moral code of conduct, freedom and education and in other society it may be any mixture of the above mentioned traits of values. Norms: Norms are the expected and appropriate behaviors and code of conducts which are appreciated by a society, culture or a community. Saying good morning and other grating to the people, saying sorry and thanks, wearing appropriate clothes on different events, occasions and ceremonies , observing the religious practices, helping the needy and poor person, visiting the ill people, going to offices and jobs in the time, following the signals rules,and so on are the examples of social norms which are approved by the society. |

2- In what respects are your values similar to those of your parents? In what respects do they differ? How do you explain these differences?
Respects in which an individual values are similar to his parents: As values are the beliefs with regards to what is right, wrong , fair and just. These beliefs of one individuals may be similar to those of his parent in the respect respects. 1- one parent used to respects of elders, their parents, theirs teachers, pious person; and in the same way an individual as a offspring may respect to his parents, elders, relatives, teachers and pious person. 2- one parent used to value to material things like money, business,individuals success and in the same way an individual as a offspring may value to material possessions. 3- one parent used to value the patriotism,welfare of society, sympathy to poor and needy,helping the poor,religious practices in the same way an individual as a offspring may value the same things. 4-one parent used to value the peace, self-reliance, rules and regulation,truth and socials relation in the same way an individual as a offspring may value the same things. In what respects do they differ? 1-one parents used to value having not social interactions with women and girls , and having not co-educations with females because at their time these practices were not allowed .universities and institutes were not existing at their time. But in today contemporary world women are the important as prominent member of society. women can acquire education with males. They can participate in the social and economic development of a society.they can do jobs and continue professional life. Please every one give suggestions and opinions of his or her own. |

Thanks dear MBA for your contributions. What do you say about the answer of above first question? is it answer the question completely? and what do you say the definitions of Norms and Values? Have you any idea about the patterns which could be different from the values of the parents.? Give your worthy opinions and suggestions. moreover please post your answers with regards to any questions of sociology.
