Describe the necessity and importance of religion for man and its effects on human life.

comments, criticism and suggestions are highly encouraged.

Introduction:
Religion plays an integral role in both the individual and collective aspect of the society.even a coursory glance of history tells us that religion has been important in all the times.tracing back to the beginning of humanity, we learn religion is found anywhere and everywhere.
Although, many philosophers and theologians have attempted to define religion, but the truest and simplest definition would “relationship between man and GOD(superpower) on which a man has a belief and depends upon”

significance of religion
From the point of a view of a normal human, the basic purpose of religion is to integrate different aspects of society. it integrats an individual with God, integrates individuals with other individuals, integrates collective aspects of society and integrates individuals with the nature.

Classification of religions
The religions of the world are broadly classified into two major division, revealed and non-revealed.the former provides sure knowledge of known aspects while the latter does not and cannot. revealed religion focus on spiritual aspects of an individual’s life but non-revealed fail to touch such aspects and leave believers at loss on such mysterious areas. Revealed religions have a practical aspect whereas non-revealed are just philosophical and based on theories.

Impact of religion
Religion leaves an indelible mark in all the aspects of an individual and collective life.it explains the concepts and beliefs which science fails to address such as how world was created? Why world was created? What is the purpose of life? it acts as a “guide” showing a path to be followed by its adherents. all the religions of the world advocated an individual to practice righteousness and to shun evil.
At a conference on religion, a query was asked “why is religion so important? Why can’t human beings follow the basic principles of right and good doing based on humanity”. the answer to such a query would be a counter question “who decides what is good and right?”. Miniskirts and jeans may be considered good and right for any western society buit in Pakistan it is viewed as indecent and immoral. On similar lines, alcohol ,the fatalist drink is considered a part of the norm and customs in some societies while holding a negative image in muslim societies.
The fact is, if left to man to decide, he would never be able to unanimously agree upon items as being right and wrong. this leaves us at the disposal of the creator, who has created us and is aware of our necessities and requirements.

Effects of religion

Economic impact: religion has a interrelated relationship with the economy of any country. religion encourages men to gives alms and charity to help the poor and destitute and to earn a reward for it in hereafter.
As Quran says “ and the poor and the destitute have a due share in their wealth”

Welfare: looking at the history, we learn that religion has played a commendable role in the welfare of individuals. Major religions of the wealth have contributed to the field of medicine. in addition, it encourages the adherents to help fellow beings by establishing hospitals, orphanages, religious organizations, inns ec.

Education: religions in all times have propagated education. In the time of Holy prophet (P.B.U.H),mosques served as the primary educational institution. similarly, in ancient times, churches were used as the source for dissemination of knowledge and information.

Explains sufferings: religion explains sufferings. it creates a belief in its followers the feeling that worldly sufferings are temporary and the hereafter is eternal. it exhorts the believers to belief that even his worldly sufferings are meaningful.

Consolation to aggrieved: religion provides solace and consoles the depressed and aggrieved. It propagates that everything is in the hand of the creator and it is He who gives pain or pleasure and that man should submit himself to His will to earn HIS pleasure. As is rightly said “prayer does not change god, it changes him who pray”

Social cohesion: religions are a source of social cohesion. it unites different sections of the society and inculcates the feeling of unity, commonness and struggle for a common goal.

Conclusion: religion is not the following of particular rituals, rites or going to a certain religious instituition (temple, mosque or church),it is the spiritual communion of the man with his creator. This, thus, leaves a mark on each and every aspect of the society.

sadafnoorelahi it is good piece of information and good attempt. But the order does not seems in your answer according to me. Ideas and material should be expressed in the order and sequence. The Question order should be kept. You did not present the required stuff for "necessity and importance of religion" as demanded in the question. Answer's heading should be accordance with the elements of questions. Like "necessity and importance of religion" but instead of it ,you made the heading 'significant of religion'. One thing more your emphasis in the answer was mostly on the 'effects on religion". here you should had to make heading like "effects of religion on human life". Heading should be clear. in the end you may disagree with me . you can provide me your suggestion too. Also ,please comment on my answer too.

.Revealed religions are those religions in which God sent His Messengers(Prophets) to His creature to convey His messages. These messages are called Wahi "revelations". These revelations are revealed for specifics purposes.
.These are monotheistic religions. which means the followers believe in one God.
.God did not come on earth to convey His message to His creatures ,and He was not the man or female ,and he was not among the people ,Unlike the Non-revealed religions.( what do you think about christanity,: god assumed a human shape in form of jesus) (yes here i also agree with you but it is revealed religion because Bible was revealed on the Jesus. (i should write the sentence as: mostly in revealed religions God did not come on earth to convey His message to His creatures ,and He was not the man or female ,and he was not among the people ,but Christianity is only sole revealed religion in which according to the christian Jesus assumed himself as God but according to the Muslim and Quran Jesus was only the Messenger of God).
.In revealed religion God educates His followers through revelations.
.Example of revealed religions are the Islam, Christianity ,Judaism.
.Revealed religions is based on the strong faiths and revelations. In revealed religions God revealed His existence ,laws and wills. He selected the messengers to carry out His messages to the world.

2-Non-revealed Religions:
.In Non-revealed religions unlike revealed religions, God did not send His messages to His followers through the messengers, but, instead He himself educated to the followers.
.In non-revealed religion God or Gods make up all of his or her own.
.Non -revealed religion are polytheistic religions. The followers believe in many Gods and Goddess like in Hinduism in which followers believe in various male and female Gods. ( not all,Buddhism does not address issue of god, whether one or many) (yes i agree with you (in Buddhism there is not God i should have to define the non-revealed religion as:Non -revealed religion are mostly polytheistic religions but it may have no God. Either the followers may believe in many Gods and Goddess like in Hinduism in which followers believe in various male and female Gods, or they may believe in no God Like Buddhism)
.God in this case is within the creature and close to the followers. ( this is only in Hindus not in all non revealed regions)
.Example of the non-revealed religions are Hinduism and Buddhism.
.there is no concept of revelation in non-revealed religions.

-Conclusion.
Religion plays very important role in the life of its followers. Whether religion is revealed, or no-revealed has great importance for his followers. It binds its follower for the maintenance of healthy society. It provides the solidarity , unity and integrity. It promotes the welfare and betterment of the social life.
It prevent the followers from the crimes and offenses.

Q.2 To follow an ideal is very necessary for the progress of nation. In your view what are basic characteristic of ideal and how Islamic ideology of life affects the individual and communal life with reference to basic characteristic of Islamic ideology? Elucidate.

Ideal: anything or anyone which is an embodiment of perfection. In terms of philosophical ethics, it refers to the values one actively pursues as goals.

Characteristics of an ideal
• It is a comprehensive vision covering goals and expectations
• It is proposed by the dominant class of the society to suggest changes
• Ideal is central to politics as it is a system of abstract thoughts applied to practical matters.
• Ideal is pivotal to any economic or political ideology.

Ideology: views, opinions or manner of living or path to be followed.

explanation: Islamic ideology is aimed at the propagation of ideas which are the very essence of islam. the Islamic ideology is based on divine revealation and the sunnah. even after 1400 years of its introduction, the ideology still holds true.

Islamic ideology

Code of life: islam is a complete code of life. it contains commandments covering all the aspect of an individual’s life including financial matters, social or cultural issues and the spiritual satisfaction.
“ Establish prayers and pay zakat and bow your heads with those who bow”

It also provides us guidance in the political sphere.
“And they conduct their affairs by mutual consultations”

Revealed religion: islam is a revealed religion and is based on the divine injunctions. Quran is the ultimate source of islam, which is the book of ALLAH ,in the very words of ALLAH and HE himself has taken the responsibility of its protection.

Quran says “ verily we have sent it(Quran) and we are its protectors
and to every nation and people have we sent a guide

Practical: islam is a practical religion.it not only enjoins the believers to do good and abstain from evil but it also shows us a path to follow.
Quran says “ to each of you is sent a sharia and a clear path

Universal: the message of islam is not localized.it is for all people and for all times .
Quran says “ the noblest of you in the sight of ALLAH is the one who is pious”.

Even holy Prophet (P.B.U.H), in his last sermon said “ and arabs do not have superiority over non arabs or non arabs over arabs and blacks are not superior to whites or whites to blacks…”

Humanist approach: islam has a humanist approach to all the issues of world. It promotes brotherhood, peace, equality and tolerance

Effect of Islamic ideology on individual’s life

Instills a sense of responsibility: Islamic ideology creates a sense of responsibility in its adherents. the muslims acknowledge the fact that they are not masters of their bodies or their life. They accept that it is a trust from ALLAH and they will be made accountable for it.

Subservience to the will of ALLAH : the believers of islam follow a certain code of conduct which enjoins all good and abstains from bad. It exhorts the believers to be charitable, humble, virtuous , modest and honest in their dealings .believers themselves practice moral code of conduct without any external compulsion. Rather, they are impelled to follow the teachings of almighty ALLAH.

Transform outlook towards life: Islamic ideology transforms the very soul of an individual. it suppresses all devilish feelings and emotions arising from jealousy, selfishness and deceit. The believers admit that ALLAH is omnipotent and omnipresent. He is all seer and all hearer. they cannot hide a sin as minor as a grain from HIM.
As quran says “ ALLAH HO LA ILLAHA ILLAH HOWAL HAYEE UL QAYUM”

Inculcates lofty principles: the sense of accountability and following of code of conduct results in the practice of deeds all virtuous and avoidance of actions feared to evoke displeasure of ALLAH. The believers practice each action with the sole purpose of pleasing almighty ALLAH. This results in the production of individuals of lofty characters.
……man is in loss except those who enjoin good and abstain from evil”

Impact of islam on collective life

Social life: islam revolutionizes social life. Muslims hold the view that all individuals are creations of ALLAH and are thus equal. they have equal responsibilities, duties and equal opportunities.this puts an end to the sense of superiority and inferiority in individuals based on social, racial, or class differences.

Even holy Prophet (P.B.U.H), in his last sermon said,
and arabs do not have superiority over non arabs or non arabs over arabs and blacks are not superior to whites or whites to blacks…”

Social relationship: islam alters the very basics of social relationships. Such man-made interrelationships and linkages have resulted in the creation of unsurmountable gaps between individuals. Islam does not recognized the division among men on the basis of geographical or national boundries. all the people who profess belief in the oneness of Allah and risalat make up one community and are interlinked.

And hold fast all of you to the rope of ALLAH and be not divided amongst yourself”

Prejudices: prejudices may be defined as negative evaluation of an abject, thing or person. Generally prejudices are a result of learned behaviour, historical evidences or media propaganda. Islam indoctrines that all men are the progeny of ADAM and are the creations of ALLAH .so no one should be looked down upon.
The whole humanity is one humanity”

CONCLUSION: following an ideology is important for the national development of any country.it shows a definite path to be followed and also highlights the forbidden zone.it guides us in how to achieve our goal.

Q. Discuss the concept of veil and freedom of woman from Islamic point of view while analyzing the law against veil in France.

Outline:
-concept of the veil of women in Islam
-concept of the freedom of women in the Islam
-analysis of the French law against the veil.
-conclusion

-concept of the veil of women in Islam:
Veil in Arabic is called "Hijab" which means "to cover". So veil is a piece of garment which covers the whole body from head to toe. In other words veil is the cloak which conceals the body including head. Allah says about the hijab in the Quran that:"O prophet! Tell your wives, daughters, and the wives of the believers to draw the cloak around them(when go abroad)". This verse of the Holy Quran expressed that Veils is obligatory on Muslim woman. Allah Almighty furthermore emphasis on the significance of the veils for woman and says that :"And Tell the believing women to lower the gaze, and be moderate, and to display of their adornments which are apparent, a to draw their veils over the bosoms " .This verse of the Holy Quran explicitly provides the definition of the veil. Here from above verse "be moderate" means not to expose the parts of the body and walk without will in the market. As the Arab history revealed that women were used to expose their parts of the body and walked in the market without veil in order that they could make money. From the above verse "to display their adornments which are apparent" means that woman can expose only those parts of the body which are common between both male and female like the hands, face or feet, but other sex parts must not be exposed. Many Islamic scholars conflict while interpreting this above verse Some are of the opinions that hands, face or feet expose the beauty of a women so must not be exposed. Some are of the opinions that this above verse only restrict a women to expose those parts which are apparent like hand ,face or feet can be exposed.
-concept of the freedom of women in the Islam:
freedom of the women means the liberation of women in the sphere of the life. In Islam the freedom of women means provision of the basic rights to women. Islam is the religions that has given the rights to women before the fourteen centuries. Islam has given the social ,political, and economic rights to the women. These rights are as follows.
social rights:
.right to get educate.
.right to accept or reject the marriage proposal.
.right to get divorce or khulla.
.right to entertain and dine out
.right to cloth.
.right to get equal treatment in case of polygamy

political right:
.right to be witness before the court
.right to vote.
.right to advise and to be consulted in the legal matters.

economical right:
.right to inheritance
.right to maintain (in case of iddah)
.right to ownership .
.right to seek employment and business.

-analysis of the French law against the veil.
"France ban on covering act" was passed by the Senate on 14th September 2010 . The arguments supported this act were that face covering prevents the identification of a person ,which can cause hindrances for both security and the society which relies on the facial recognition and the expression in communication. This law imposed the fine of 150 euro for the woman who covers her face. Almost ten millions Muslim live in the France in which 2000 women draw veil around their body. on one hand France which the center of fashion and other Western countries which claim that they authenticate and guarantee the religion and expression freedom. on the other hand France imposed the law against the veil. This is condemnable. As the veil's order has given by the Allah Almighty in the Quran, therefore it is the religious right of the Muslim woman. France claims that veil causes the the security hindrances lets analyze this statement by an example of the two women who are going on the way to market .One woman is in the veil and other has worn the shorts which is insecure and has the chances to get raped? obviously the women that has worn the shorts. So the Veils provides the security to a woman. Different people have different opinions regarding that some one are in the favor of imposition of law against the veil and someones are in against of it.

-conclusion
Veil is the basic right of the women of which Allah has ordain in the Quran. It prevent the women from social evils and make secure. Veil is the religious obligation of the Muslim women.

Please correct me and provide me suggestions and opinions regarding the best approach of solving of this questions.

(here in the above narrated arguments you told the islam was a global religion and reported " the noblest of you in the sight of ALLAH is the one who is pious”. both the not linking the same concepts and arguments)
Quran says “ the noblest of you in the sight of ALLAH is the one who is pious”. (Why you reported here
:Even holy Prophet (P.B.U.H), in his last sermon said “ and arabs do not have superiority over non arabs or non arabs over arabs and blacks are not superior to whites or whites to blacks…” , this reported hadith not elucidating the heading)
