I want to ask about essay paper... we have to write one essay? for this hundred mark paper, as its not mentioned in paper that write one essay or two ????
I am a beginner student, so if i ask questions which seems to be simple and silly like this dont mind,actually i jst want to make thngs clear to me.... i dont knw nethng abt css and its pattern papers. I have jst started to learn the thngs frm nw onwards.

My dear friend Inshallah 100 percent u will Pass in GK section. I did only 21 MCQs from EDS right, 16 C.A, 15 Pak studies.

Thankyou Mohsin Shah... I also want to know how much time it takes from the date of application till the selction procedure?

When application form for css 2010 will appear in newspaper and deadline for submission is how many days?
On which month css 2010 will be held?(i am askin abt rough idea)
CSS Result?
CSS Interview?
CSS seat allocation?
Joining in any department?

Salaam,

you'll submit your application before 1st Jan 2010. The exams will start on 6th march. the result will be hopefully out by September. the time taken by psychological tests + medical test + interview depends upon number of candidates declared pass. your final merit list will be out hopefully by March 2011.

but you can safely assume that if you qualify all stages and get allocated, you will join Civil Services Academy in Jan 2012. it takes almost two years.

could we apply for all of them?
What is the schedule of papers for CSS,PMS,PCS?
Could we opt Islamiyat subject in Urdu?

I am afraid that outlines are explicitly demanded by the examiner therefore a candidate who does not write an outline at the start of one's essay is bound to loose some marks.This is what i have learnt from experts and from personal experience.

I have attempted Women Status in Islam. i hv backed each of my argument with an Ayat or Hadith or an event Happened in the era of Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH) or four caliphs (15 in total). total number of pages were 23 with an excellent introduction.

And Yes! If we want to quote or write some Surah in essay [B]which Method is write, from below[/B]

Do not use headings in essay it should be in simple paragraph according to the outline.
u can quote in both ways u have mentions above but 2nd one make ur quote more prominent.

my topic was "future of democracy in pakistan"
outline was:
- what is democracy
- evolution of democracy
- understanding of democracy by the sub continent
- British Democracy applicable in Pakistan?
- Military impact on departments of Pakistan.
- politician's behaviors and democracy
- conclusion

you are absolutely right and i wud also like to add that dnt extend ur essay just to add pages coz that way u will have more chance of making mistakes just make it a standard one

can anyone tellme if standard of writting gives any advantage or disadvantage in essay paper

this essay seems to be a bit easy for me coz i hav juz done masters in lit n lingu from NUML isb
n in my 4th sem,our Essay writing subject had the mor or less the same topics as abv..

I attmepted war on terror , and its impacts on psyche and politico , socio and economic aspects of people . i selected this topic for two reasons ,firstly it was general topic and one can have bundle of information about this topic. secondly such topics give you freedom to write in a wide ranging manner , means it provides you a big space to play with.

i would have opted this, because its less contradicting and u can quote many examples from the world,

It was very easy but a challenging paper. Easy in the sense that topics were very common. Challenging in the sense that everybody could write the same material. So a competition of quality and creative material was required. I left "Women" topic because I knew most be crammers were available in exam hall who could attempt with good mix of Ayats, Ahadis, and quotation. I left "Democracy" topic because future is uncertain. "co.education , Merits and Demerits" very easy that could challenge me in material. "The food crisis: problems , challenges and opportunities for Pakistan" good topic worth writing. "English as the Medium of Education in Pakistan" controversial topic. "The future of UNO, Hopes and Hurdles" good topic. "Pakistan's War on terror and its impact on our psyche and politic-socio-economic fronts" hum ko terrorism sy dar lagta hy.


I avoid literary topics (Health is not a condition of matter, but of mind.) (There is no great genius without a mixture of madness.)



I assigned 30 minutes to three topics on the last page of the answer sheet. Jotted points on these three topics and finally selected (Power of Media in the Modern World).

On average my paper contained 8 words per line, 28 lines per page, and total 15 pages (including 2 pages on outline). I enjoyed the paper. Let's see how the examiner assesses my paper. I will be posting my outline after my last paper.[/QUOTE]
