Either they should change the syllabus or
make paper according to current syllabus.
Paper is poles apart from syllabus.
But who cares,it is we who suffer.

I think this is the pattern which should be followed in coming years too. Cramming and jotting down the verses and Hadiths are quite easy. Here they have opted for an analytical approach i.e whether we understand Islam in true means and how we see it in current global perspective. This is the real test of knowledge. :)

When Allah's words were revealed, “And warn your closest kinsfolk” the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, climbed upon as-Safa and cried out at the top of his voice, “Ya sabahahu, ya sabahahu” (a warning cry of danger for which Quraysh would assemble). Quraysh gathered to [hear] Him (PBUH) and He said to them, “I am a warner of a painful punishment before you,” and then he warned them collectively and individually. Abu Lahab said to Him (PBUH), “May you perish! Was it for this you gathered us together?” and so the Surah Lahab was revealed.

This time they have touched topic related to "man" also in addition to "woman". This is positive development. Otherwise in previous attempts they solely focused on woman only.

"man" = mankind
"man" = mankind
If it is mankind then why didn't they write clearly mankind/human-being? why did they select word "man"?

absolutely rite!
Islamiat is one of those, or may be, the only paper which pushes an aspirant's knowledge to the limit regarding controversial issues, the issues which are in every state's media... Why Islam, Why Jihaad, Why Hijaab, Why Muhammad (PBUH)and the itchy list of questions has no end...
To prepare Islamiat as a "specialized, unique and demanding " discipline and not just as a bunch of "expected" questions, study should be aimed at gathering the very core and crucial knowledge.
And this is the aim of Islamiat paper, to evaluate the aspirant's know how about the "Political, Economical, Social, Historical" course of Islamic ideology.

Forum is open for disagreement!
Peace!
