Alabama claims case: The Alabama claims were a diplomatic dispute between the United States and Great Britain that arose out of the U.S. Civil War. The peaceful resolution of these claims 7 years after the war ended set an important precedent for solving serious international disputes through arbitration, and laid the foundation for greatly improved relations between Britain and the United States.
Cases and Materials: Harris' Cases & Materials on International Law, widely recognised as the leading text of its kind, is a stimulating and wide-ranging work. Designed to support students throughout their studies, Harris provides a sound basis for any public international law course through an extensive selection of extracts and background information supplemented by authoritative commentary and expert analysis Pacific blockade: Pacific blockade was a term invented by Hautefeuille, the French writer on international maritime law, to describe a blockade exercised by a great power for the purpose of bringing pressure to bear on a weaker state without actual war. One about Ambassador's wife: Diplomat and his family have full immunity in criminal cases but in civil cases, they have immunity only in official matters. Also a diplomat and his family can never be arrested but civil cases can be registered against them. |

Laws of the Seas were not even included in the syllabus. How come examiner asked questions from that? I think the examiner had not even seen the syllabus before setting up the paper.
